13 YEARS! Gynecologist just gave me antibiotics every time I got bv and I got bv several times a year! Never ONCE did she say well switch from Always to a natural/plant base menstrual pad/tampon for example (honey pot), or switch to plant base bath wash for example (dr. Bronners). I was diagnosed with PCOS and became sun fertile and all this gynecologist said was accept it. I did steaming, changed my diet and guess what!? My menstrual is regular, no more cramps! No more cysts, I’m pregnant and NOT high risk.

Misconceptions regarding V-Steam : 1. Vagina is self cleaning. This is biologically accurate- so is the colon and it still gets compacted. 2. Steam injury- 99% will get into a shower that is to hot...and move out of the way...the same with steaming. The "label" warming do not sit on it if it burns the inside of your wrist. 3. Evidence- there are currently studies being conducted to give validity for steaming being a legit treatment option- stay tuned. Dr. Caudle....I am a steam practitioner and a herbalist. This is incorrect. A person either steams for 10 ( mild steam) 30 mins (Advance Steam) No longer than that. If a person is able to steam because some women have contraindications that won't allow them to steam. In those women are referred out to a qualified & certified person.There are 4 different steams design for women cycles or if they just want to cleanse after their cycle. The problem is Doctor's are misinformed about Steaming. Steaming HAS been around for centuries but, mostly done in China, Haiti, Jamacia, Trindad just to name a few. Steaming isn't really heard of here in the states very few people know about it. We aren't just out here steaming if a person is going to a certified person. There is actually a strict screening that has to be done first before a person can steam. This intake screening asked questions like cycles days, if any dicharge, if they have had 2 periods with in the last 3 months, are they pregnant , trying to conceive or are they on birth control etc. Steaming is based off of a woman's cycle days. The temperature is adjusted based on the clients desire. Steaming has help me get rid of infections that I kept being prone to in the only thing GYN kept offering me was Antibiotics that would only give me a yeast infection. I had very bad cycles, cyst & fibriods. I tried steaming a year ago out of desperation! It was my only choice! I would bleed for months at at time in the only 3 options the Doctor's gave me was a DNC, Birth Control & Hysterectomy. Not to mention I wanted more kids but, I was told medically 10 years ago I would never be able to carry any more children due to scar tissue & fluid. So I tried steaming! what the heck could I loose!? And I am so glad I did!! Steaming has actually shrunk my fibroids & cyst. I was able to get pregnant this year and I have not any heavy bleeding or infections since steaming! So yes, Steaming changed my life LITERALLY! In hence is why I decided to get out that side of the medical field in became a Certified Vaginal Steam Facilitor. I am also studying Herbalism. This is the way the world is moving. People are tired of taking medicines that don't work and have a 1000 side effects. Naural medicine WORKS. When steaming is done correctly by a certified person there are MANY benefits. We actually study like you do Doc with all due respect. This is Holistic Health and I was in the medical field for 16 years and I enjoy this side better! I enjoy seeing people actually getting better without medicine refills.. This is all plant base and natural!

What are the alternatives to detoxing, lighter periods, etc? Let me first say that I applaud a black woman Dr. Especially in the field of obstetrics and/or gynecology. You are indeed needed. But I must say that the ease with which you list the possible side effects of yoni steaming, but are nonchalant about the side effects of "the help" that doctors can give (meds), is concerning. I mentioned random hairs (literally one or two) on my chin and my gynos solution was to increase the estrogen in my birth control. Welp, a month later I had three massive blood clots that could have killed me. I was hospitalized and got behind on studying for the bar because of it. She did this even after I told her I had a family history of blood clots from bc. To make matters worse none of the attending doctors wanted to believe when I told them what did it. Fast forward to having my two children and my obgyn tried to force me to get on bc or an iud. If I were to get on bc again it would likely kill me. She completely dismissed my concerns as a fluke from estrogen and said I would be fine on progesterone. I had to raise my voice and firmly tell her NO. She was upset and asked what would I do about birth control?! I am married, my husband and I make a good living and we have two children....why was this woman pushing so hard for me to risk my LIFE to go on birth control?!! Doctors have truly lost my trust, especially in the obgyn field. You guys are human and make mistakes just like anyone else, but are less likely to admit those mistakes as it often costs someone their life. So Dr., I'll have to respectfully disagree with your assessment.

We do this back home in Belize after child birth only, to ease cramps and let excess waste flow out smoothly. An other wise healthy woman does not need this. Exploiting the old school method in an unsafe way for money is the same as a new age doctor exploiting its patient for money. This doctor is right, a healthy woman, with a healthy vagina does not need this. And if you do feel you need it make sure you check the herbs that you are sitting over. Herbs are good but can also be harmful if use the wrong way or wrong dosage. Ps. I grew up on herbs and all these old school method that people are now making money over, it’s free in my country..

You didn't give one good reason why we shouldnt steam our vajayjays!! You said exactly what a doctor would say, " you don't need to steam, if you have a problem come see us, we can help" ...😒 that's what a doctor is suppose to say, but also if you're going to say all that at least give us a logical reason why. Tell us why a holistic treatment using herbs grown from the earth can't or won't help our bodies.. the fact that it actually works don't mean anything to u? You said yourself that it hasn't been tested.. yes it have! It's been tested time and time by holistic healers, and believers and users... But because they don't have a degree in meds they can't be right huh? Well your medicines keep women coming bck for more! Because your man-made, harsh material, FDA approved chemicals and pills don't do a thing.. Exactly who is that mess tested on??? Why do a pill have to be followed up with a cream and stuff like that in some cases? The fact that u said our vaginas are perfect, but you want us to put a cream inside it for a YI, or BV or whatever else... a thick gross cream, that melts out of our bodies during the day..thats actually worst than the discharge!😵 With a yoni steam it's simply just steam going in and around our vaginas.. steam! Nothing harsh, no chemicals. Just mentions of mother nature herself! Going into our self cleaning bodies... even a self cleaning oven needs a Lil steam sometimes... it's nothing that will hurt us in a yoni steam. You don't need some med lab testing it.. and if someone is silly enuff to sit so close to the steam as to burn themselves, then they need to come see u.. the direction tell you to sit slow to be aware of the heat from the steam and if it's to hot. Wait or add water to change the temp... we're not dumb Miss Doctor, we're more aware then u think.. that's why a Yoni steam is being chose over those creams and pills that were made in someone's wicked lab..

I experienced severe cramping dysmenorrhea, vomiting, nausea etc.. since I began my period at 10-12 y/o. It's a healthier and better alternative to relying on pills to relieve pain or heat pads. The water should NOT be extremely scalding hot! Just warm enough to relax the muscles. I boil the water and I also keep cold water to blend in if it's too warm to adjust the temp same as if I were drinking tea. I do experience some of the side effects mentioned, tightening for male sexual pleasure, vaginal lubrication etc..

It's definitely something good to do, it's not just something women do just because. It has great health benefits, I've been doing it and it immediately helped improved my cycle, reduce pain from cysts, and decreased cysts from forming. It also helped a friend of mine just in one steam. It's so relaxing and you don't burn yourself, it's not like you're sitting on the pot itself. It's a short steam customized to what your needs/issues you have going on determines the herbs used if you go to a specialist/facility. If you're curious look more into it, so many people have testimonies proving its effectiveness.

What does a woman do if her oven stops self cleaning after having a hysterectomy 15 years ago and approaching 50 along with having Sjogrens Syndrome which has decreased the production of moisture everywhere (notably the eyes and month)? There natural remedies such as oils, lemons for the mouth and drops or a lipid procedure for the eyes. Currently I take a lot of sitz baths, but was looking into steaming. What other choices are there that can be done when on the road a lot.

Alright one thing I noticed very quickly just scrolling through the comments is the fact that she liked almost anyone that agreed with her , I think it’s always great to speak your mind and not a lot of women do have as much knowledge as they should on their body for example that the vagina cleans itself . BUT I’ve seen videos on steaming though I’ve never practiced before but before they do the steaming they always say to let the water sit for some time SO THAT YOU DONT BURN YOURSELF. Also , the vagina is perfect but like myself after I stopped taking birth control pills I just don’t get as wet I use to and I would prefer to take a more natural approach rather than being prescribed pills that will have other annoying side effects . There are women that claim how it helped them conceived or help with an STD . I would suggest speaking to someone about their experience before stating these sort of things so confidently.

People really angry over this, but she's right..... Just because something is ancient traditional practice doesn't mean it works and is good. Cutting up little girls lady bits so they don't bare the oh terrible sin of basic human sexual pleasure is also a traditional practice that to this day is still happening. Also, just because something is *natural* doesn't mean that it is *good* or *better* and just because it's synthetic doesn't make it bad. Natural products can be just as harmful as some chemicals and some chemicals can work even better than natural products. She went to school, studied and researched, but is "brainwashed" because y'all don't like what you are hearing. Many of you demonize western medicine that you'll bring up the many that have died due to meds, but will conveniently leave out the many that died practicing "natural" and "traditional" medicine because they didn't know what the fuck they were doing. To this day there is little evidence that supports this practice actually works other than anecdotal experiences. Therefore it is still open for discussion. Any GOOD doctor would tell you that there simply isn't enough evidence at the moment. Blood letting was something people did and still do and believe it works. It's honestly funny how some of y'all say she who studies medicine is brainwashed, but I bet more than half of y'all still believe meat rots in your stomach.
@cmapit32202 жыл бұрын
Are you literally comparing genital mutilation to steaming??!!! That's a stretch. Western medicine is not 100% right just as herbal medicine is not 100% right. The problem is the arrogance of Western medicines and the Western World in general. Her only side effect was burns. Seriously. As if no one has the common sense to remove themselves from something that is too hot. In five years when studies confirm the benefits, all of the doctors will pivot and start offering services in their offices while charging an arm and a leg for it. America is behind the curve.
@blueismylove31282 жыл бұрын
@@cmapit3220 No actually I'm not. The point was just because something is traditional and has been done for a long time does not make it right or a good practice. Sorry I thought that was obvious.
