This man spoke my words out of my heart, words I said & things I did after finding out my amazing handsome son is gay. I'm a devout Christian, he was raised in church, we were there every time the doors opened. Then my son came out after college & having a girlfriend all through college. I never suspected when he was growing up. People said I should have seen something & tried to get him help. I don't agree. In my religion homosexuality is not accepted & I hid it for a long time because I didn't want my friends to know. Finally after him going through the exact same things this young man did he realized he must come out to his dad & I. It was a huge shock I won't lie but I finally realized I loved my son & accepted him for who he is, a very successful man that lives a great life. He has a life partner that I love as another son. Please if you're out there struggling with this issue with your child yet being a Christian or whatever religion you follow, just accept them, love them & most of all don't be ashamed of them. God created each of us the way we are. I love my son & nothing will change that. Thank you for posting this amazing video for others of us out here who have walked in your shoes.
@amandagarcia63204 жыл бұрын
Husky Mom? Thank you for sharing that story with us. I am also a devoutly religious Roman Catholic and I struggle (almost daily) to reconcile the teachings of my faith with the fact that I applaud, praise, admire, and encourage the homosexual lifestyle for people who know in their heart that this is "how they were created". For too many generations men and women SUFFERED IN SILENCE with their homosexual identity. This video brought me to tears to see how eloquently the Father expressed his unconditional love for his son. I absolutely APPLAUD Dr. Vijay for helping bring awareness to the need for "acceptance through love".

@@amandagarcia6320 Absolutely, that father was amazing & the story he told could have been me speaking. When my son told me he tried to kill himself because he didn't want to break my heart I was so thankful for angels unaware, a young Christian lady just happened to be on the beach in Sarasota at 2:00 a.m and stopped my son from pulling the trigger of a gun he had to his head &asked him why he wanted to die. She got him to sit down on the beach & she hugged him & told him whatever he was going through was not worth killing himself for & she listened for an hour him telling her his story. She asked him could she pray for him & she did. She told him she knew he had a mother out there who loved him & what his death would do to me. She told him to go get counseling as soon as possible & he did. She got up of that beach, hugged him again & told him she was a Christian & she would be praying for him, then she was just gone, she as she had appeared but there was no car in the parking lot so I'll always believe she was an angel sent to save his life. I don't tell that story to many people because most would say she lived right there but I know she saved my son's life & she was right, he does have a mother that would have been devastated.

@@deborahbennett6149 Deborah? Pray to whom? Who is it that we are all "supposed to" be praying to? I was born into a very, very strict Roman Catholic faith and followed the principles set forth by the Pope and the religious leaders of my faith. I never strayed from being the "ideal and proper representation" of a GOOD Catholic. Now that I am an adult? I do not even know who to "pray to" anymore because Christian principles are in direct opposition to the homosexual lifestyle. So who is it that any of us are supposed to be "praying to" when our own religions have taught us that homosexuality is a "sin worthy of eternal damnation" (which I simply cannot believe in anymore now that I have cultivated lifelong relationships with so many wonderful and amazing homosexuals).

I look forward to a day when it’s not a “gay wedding,” and it’s just a wedding. I’m gay myself and spent years in the closet, terrified of coming out. I thought I’d spend my life in that closet and marry a women and never find happiness. At 17 I finally decided to come out, and the amount of love and support I received was insurmountable. I look forward to a future where kids can love who they love and not even have to come out as gay, because that truly is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I want kids to be able to come home with someone of the same sex and have nothing but love and support. I hope to have kids myself one day and by that time if they are gay they don’t have to tel us, because I never want another child to go through what I did. I know one day we’ll all see it as just another marriage, as just another loving couple because that’s all they are.

I wasn’t looking for anything on KZbin when your vlog showed up. To be honest, I’ve heard several stories about their family’s acceptance of their gay sons so it’s not new to me at all however, I was still curious of what your father’s message so I click the play button. Then I kept listening and finished your 22:10 video. I admire your your father’s courage in accepting you for who you are regardless of how many people will stay in his/your life after the revelation. I love it when he told you that maybe after you come out, probably 50% of the people will not talk to you, maybe they don’t need to be in your life, so stick with the other 50% who will be with you❤️❤️❤️ Your father is really exceptional, lucky you to have a family like them🌹🌹🌹 May God bless you and your entire family🌹🌹🌹 Wishing you all the best🙏🙏🙏

@@supriyamehra4281 You know it must be so hard for all parties concerned as there are 2 generations here from a strict culture and so those lovely parents will have to deal with the sad as it is stigma attached from the people they have faced some form of discrimination. I really feel for the whole of this family. The Pitashri and Matashri are proud of their son and hence the groons had a very special day. Keep happy always :)

Congratulations you guys!! This is so emotional and touching. It was so great to hear this and understand the emotions Parag's parents went through being Jains and believing in the theory of Karma at the same time accepting he truth. It just makes me tempted to say , If we can hear what your (Vaibhav's) parents went through emotionally when you came out to them.As it would be more difficult to be accepted in Indian society as compared to living in the states. And what was the motivation behind it and how they are dealing with it as they reside in India.

Thank you for your kind comment, Nidhi! Brut India did a beautiful feature on us that you can watch here: facebook.com/watch/?v=852077051824081. Alternately, just search for "Parag + Vaibhav" on Google and you'll be able to find several stories that talk about my experience coming out to my parents.

A Father will always be a father regardless of their religious beliefs. A parent's love to their son/daughter indeed is more powerful than any other things in this world. CONGRATULATIONS !!!

To the married couple, God bless you both with all the happiness of the world. To those people here for spewing hatred. Nobody asked for it. If that's all you have to offer then you better keep it to yourself. Let them have the happiness you are clearly lacking in your life.
