Your daughter is so beautiful. So nice, you both had time together making fun Valentine's food. It's awesome you're teaching her your recipes and even more that she wants to learn. Can't wait to find out if your sweet newest baby will be a boy or girl. Praying all goes great, and I'm always sending love to you and family. Always thankful for all your videos.

Back in 1981, we were expecting our first baby. I can't remember how much of a bolt of flannel I bought, but enough to make 5 dozen diapers. They were so darn easy to make and were so soft and absorbent. I used the same diapers for our second baby when he was born in 1985. We had completed our family, so over time those diapers got cut up and were used as rags. They were still so absorbent, so made excellent rags. I think back and can't believe that was over 40 yrs ago that I made those diapers. 😊

Hearing you talk about being a tomboy sounded like you were describing me as a child 😂 I was exactly the same way. Thank God we were able to just be ourselves without any weirdness. And I'll be raising my daughter the same way

So true 😊 Me too, a tomboy, loved climbing, scrambling on our bikes and getting dirty 😅 Once I hit 13, I embraced my female side, Ballet and pretty clothes, lol! I feel so much for kids now, as certain people are messing with their natural development. It's crazy 😢

She will forever remember times like those. From before your pregnancy was even announced I thought to myself…she is having another girl. We will see:)

Yes! I get so happy when I see that you've posted! Your channel is so inspiring and yet calming all the same. I managed to finally get an active sourdough starter using your no-nonsense approach to not over complicating it. I decided to quit "worrying" about what it was doing every single day like I was in my previous attempts. I just fed it daily with unbleached all purpose, (I didn't have rye) marked the jar, and put it on top of my fridge (heat rises) with a coffee filter and rubber band "lid" and just kept an eye on it and fed it daily. It's been almost a month now (leaving it ON top of fridge, not inside) and it's now doubling every single day and the bubbles are getting bigger and more active daily. It's pretty cold in my old house, (66-70°) but that doesn't seem to matter now that my starter is getting stronger every day. I'm almost tempted to try my very first loaf of SD sandwich bread! =) (Newbie to SD) Thank you for your sharing your life with us! Wishing you all the best with your upcoming delivery. I hope you have another girl, but I know boys are JUST as special. ❤ (Boy mom of 3 here!) I've been following you for a while, but I was just curious if you deliver your babies at home? As an older mom and now a grandmother, I wish that I'd done things the more natural way with mine. Props to you for making that a priority!!

I love that you’re doing a diaper series w green mountain so helpful! We’re expecting our first this summer and I want to use their flats. In the next video or one of them can you talk about doublers with the flats? It seems like using the pre folds would be pretty absorbent (if needed) compared to using 2-4 of the doublers that they have listed as actual doublers. Just wanting to make sure the pre folds are an option for more absorbency or if that’s too bulky. Just wanting to know what the best approach is & bang for our buck. Thank you😊

On the topic of beef. If anyone in these comments lives near Susquehanna Co. Pennsylvania, check out Waldron’s Custom Meats. My husband used to work with one of the co owners it is a husband wife owned business. They have the processing plant on their land and we got a tour. The facilities are spotless and we have twice gotten a half beef from them. They’ll pretty much give you any cut you ask for and they while I cannot confirm now as we have moved away, I know they were doing pork last year too. We will be driving out midwest this year and on the way home we are going to stop in and refresh our beef supply. So so good.

I understand the chronic ear infection thing as I had the same as a child. I had a ruptured ear drum twice as well, and now I have a dysnfunctional eustacian tube that can’t be fixed. My kids and husband don’t understand that I am periodically deaf in one ear, depending on if the eustation tube wants to cooperate or not, and they like to talk to me as they’re walking away, with my bad ear facing them. It’s a constant ‘what????’ ‘I SAIIIIDD _____’ ‘WHAT?’ So they pick on me. My husband can’t smell anything because he suffers with sinus issues, so he always gets the fun jobs that deal with stink (garbage, cat boxes, cleaning the dog poo from the garden after they’ve been playing around, that sort of thing 😂).

Do you use only the cotton flat until potty training? Is that enough absorbency? Do you use them at night with a wool cover, disposable, or another insert?

Yes! With wool it’s very doable, with PUL I had a lot of leaks. I do keep disposable pull ups on hand for potty training when we are out and about
