My husband loved chicken and rice soup. I usually boil the chicken and use the water for the soup. I may have to roast the chicken next time and so dumplings instead of rice. I like watching you cook. I cook a lot from scratch but fun to watch how other people cook. Also! I LOVE your kitchen!

Biscuit dumplings are the ONLY way. Haha love this and great tip on freezing. Another tip for cleaning flour up along with that amazing bench scraper is the NORWEX mesh cloth. We use biscuit dumplins in blackberrys and blackberry juice, same with grape and grape juice in a pot as if making chicken dumplins. You just add sugar , some butter and a dash of vanilla if you want , delicious

My mom's dumplings were more like pie crust than biscuits. She said they were very 'short'. She used either shortening or lard. She rolled the dough out & she cut them into squares or rectangles or diamonds or triangles, whatever shape she felt like making. She thought drop dumplings were horrible & wouldn't make them like that. Also, when making the soup, she would break the largest bones in half so that the marrow would cook into the soup. Her whatever & dumpling soups were always awesome.

Could have very easily been a swap of the tongue, but a tip from a PreK-12th school receptionist who does printing for the building- cut, then laminate the cards. Cut them out and place with, if the laminator seals well and close to edges, like 1/8-1/4” between each card. Then laminate and cut again. It seals the edges of every item you laminate and greatly increases durability of that item. (Works for literally any shape. We do cutout Bible stories and other things like leaves and art projects too bc lamination seals in glitter.) Just a tip, hope this helps anyone doing lots of homeschool lamination items ❤

They are just wrong😂😂😂😂 My chicken dumpling soup is different. Like you I have always liked using roasted chicken but I make drop dumplings and my main veggies are chopped mushrooms and some spinach. While I still mince up onions, celery and a single carrot they are much smaller chunks than yours so that they pretty much disintegrate when done cooking. My kids would be always compete to see who had the most interesting shaped dumpling (mixed to the same consistency of drop biscuits). When the kids were young I transitioned to the less traditional veggies as a way to expand their veggies consumption beyond the standard 5.

@@HopewellHeights with my third, who was over 9 pounds at birth, and that’s with me losing more weight than I gained in this pregnancy so I can imagine what she would have weighed had I been able to eat- I kept having to hold up my belly when walking for at least the last month. I literally felt like she was falling out of me. I’m only 5-4 lol They probably had these pregnancy bands back in 89 but I’m not sure about that, as my midwife didn’t even suggest it, and she was on top of things always. Now that I think about it though, that baby she was again also pregnant at the same time, several months behind me, and had hyperemesis gravidarum so at my birth, she was having to go into the bathroom and throw up-like a number of times. Having had HG for almost all my babies, I felt bad for her but she just kept sipping on Ginger Brew and nibbling crackers. I couldn’t have done it I don’t think! #whatwouldwedowithoutmidwives

You’re cooking your meat the way we Puerto Ricans know it to provide the best flavor and it’s easy and ideally this mixture will be used to season any meat for up to three days of ahead of time in the coldest part of the refrigerator, but not necessarily in the freezer, SO we love to make a mixture of the most expensive highest quality organic olive oil, preferably from Spain w/lots of garlic purée by blending up in a blender these days w/the fresh best oregano, black pepper, onion powder I often wonder when I look up your features if you are Puerto Rican because you sure can pass for one of us with possibly a hint of Italian, which makes you incredibly beautiful without a lick of make up and God knows make up is overrated men should appreciate more is the look of a freshly, well kept clean face would not protection against the sun

But fat n carbs is not a complete diet. (Salt pork is a hunk of fat with a bit of meat attached) They survived but we want our families to thrive. Eggs, cheese & meat for the win! Pioneers also had a lot of problems in childbirth that could have been prevented by adequate nutrition that’s very hard when ur nomadic and then scraping out a life from the dirt. They sacrificed in ways they didn’t even know they were choosing.
