I think the one thing most investors miss when calculating intrinsic value, is that they look solely at the history to estimate growth in the future. The growth rate is very important, it arguably should take the most time in valuation. The past 10 years could be unusually good/bad due to acquisitions/dispositions affecting financials. Look to the future and make your best judgements.

For the young people, be frugal, know the tax law, and invest as much you can on index funds. One of my accounts, I open 6 years ago on 401k is close to 170k by putting from 500-800 a week. Another one, and IRA I've had invested around 250k through couple decades is now worth close to $2MM, doing mix of equity and covered options. Lastly, if you CAN'T afford a house, buy your own Studio or 1 br. apartment, or live with parents as long u can. Never listen to those people that complain about money. Those who complain about rich people is because, "Money" they DON'T have it.

The point that she makes it the 36 minute mark is so true. You see it all the time with athletes. They have about five good years and they make tons of money within that short window and because they come from a lot of lower socioeconomic classes, they don't have financial literacy hence they don't invest their money well and then fast forward 10 to 15 years they're broke and back at square one. I'm finally in an amazing career where my potential for earning is pretty well and I'm trying my best not to just get rich but stay rich.

My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to take risks. Saving is great but taking risks puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. I wish the company I work for based raises on 'I' did this for your company and made it better for them to do their jobs and saved you the excess of this much, etc..... some companies manufacturing specifically base their employees on average percentage. It's very frustrating. I have a brag book and have used it, but it didn't, I feel it helped me, I am 54, still justifying a woman's worth in a non-tradional department that is men dominant.
