Thanks for posting! I'm in the battle for cancer with a stage 3 brain glioma right now and. Life is about buying time as you say. Cancer was a wake-up call for me .It kind of did me a favor. giving me a different perspective on life. It made me think of things. love you Valerie! I remember watching the show Rhoda when I was a little girl and I'm 52

Growing up I always wished she was my big sister! Such a wonderful role model she was. Rest in Heavenly Peace sister. Some years ago, while on line at my local post office, I heard a familiar voice behind me..and looked around to see Valerie Harper in running clothes, with sneakers, and a baseball cap. She absolutely charmed everybody: not a shred of 'celeb act'. Just a funny, down to earth gal. Her courage is not surprising, given how gracious and warm she was with all of us. May good health continue to bless this terrific woman!

I was informed that when she tried out for the part of Rhoda, the director immediately realized that he had finally found after months of search, the absolute person for the part. He told Harper he knew all along, that only a jew can play a jew.
