@@Chillfanger more like quadrupled. The axe has some flashy LEDs in it. It really doesn’t look like it’s made from the finest Black Forest wood and mountain silver. It looks like it’s made from 2x4 and hemp. It’s a cool decoration piece but anyone who pays that price is insane.

The kickstarter is for the merch company. None of this is taking any development time away from the game. Valheim released in EA already superior to many AAA games for a fraction of the price of AAA games. The updates and patches have been steady. I was so hyped for this game but then I realized just how slow these people are at updates. Like there are entire games being made in the time this game has been taking to just finished the 1 year goals they made back in 2020

A roadmap, which, at the time I wouldve called commendable and been totally surprised by that output. 3 years later, and that roadmap seems like something a much smaller team wouldve pumped out in 1.5 years. Not 8 people taking 3 years to barely push ANY content patches. Its either mismanagement, bad game design, poor foresight, or they never really knew what they were doing. Ashlands will be fine, but just so. They will add NOTHING back to the base game to flesh out the world, it will always be a barren shallow place where your only goal is to go to the next boss.

I know they've added some features to diversify the early game but ultimately this is only supposed to be a game where you are pushed to beat the bosses. What's annoying me is just how slow they're putting out content when, like you said, the core mechanics are pretty straightforward.

How about focusing on your game and finishing it? Oh right already saw the dev blog basically stating “we’ve already made the big chunk of money we would have normally made at release of a normal game, now we’re just taking out time” literal year between big updates (that really only have an hour of content at a mormal pace) that most small indie devs do in 3-4 months. Definitely lost faith in this game and studio.
