I tried iPhone for half a year and I am coming back rather disappointed. I cannot even send a file to anything not Apple without a hassle. Even my 20 year old Sony Ericsson with mechanical keyboard could do that. What I dislike about Apple the most is that they COULD, but just decided not to. iMessage is not available on other platforms, they retracted it. Bluetooth just doesn't work like on anything else. To upload a video to GDrive I have to keep my screen on with GDrive open. Like WTF. Third party password managers don't work most of the time. Etc. Etc. Apple ecosystem is not superior. They just make everything else look like it sucks. The only problem is when people start comparing $150 Android phone with $1000 iPhone. Surprisingly, the 7x more expensive iPhone is the better phone out of those two...

I was a loyal iPhone user since the first one. Once they went to esim only here in the US I decided to jump ship. I did have the 15 pro max for about a month but I did end up selling it. I like most techies enjoy trying out different device and not being able to just pop my sim in was a real downside. Having to reach out to my carrier to swap around the esim wasn't fun. I kept a 13 pro max for a while but eventually realized that I could live without iOS. My husband prefers WhatsApp so iMessage was no longer a worry. I was using Google photos before the switch so again I felt safe to just move completely. I toggle between the S24 Ultra and the OnePlus 12 both of which I preordered and I do love both. The S24 is probably superior, but the battery and charging speeds of the OnePlus can't be ignored. Both devices are fantastic, the cameras are superb. I wasn't sure if I'd get used to the flat panel after having the S23 Ultra but the anti reflective screen was a more than fair trade off...it's awesome

The ecosystem is so good, OK what makes it so good? Apple fan boys: it works it doesn't lag it's the best.. I'm like first off the top end Androids don't lag and actually are faster and they work in a much larger ecosystem so if it doesn't work perfectly at times it's because it's ecosystem is so much bigger Samsung/android compatible with Microsoft, Google and not to mention everything Samsung makes appliances just to name one. Apple not compatible with anything except Apple and their ecosystem is not large so it better work perfectly considering how little it has to pair with compared to everything Samsung/android pair with smh...

The deciding factor for me was notifications. I've been an Android user since the beginning, but I started to noticed that notifications were being delayed or missed. I even set all of my apps to unrestricted battery usage. I placed my Pixel 8 Pro next to my newly purchased iPhone 15 Pro Max. I noticed my notifications came through normally on the iPhone but the Pixel was delayed. I then noticed X/Twitter notifications were sometimes completely missed on my Pixel. After researching I learned about the Android doze feature. This causes the notification delay. Hopefully they'll find another way to optimize because I really do prefer Android.

iPhone "simplicity" comes in the form of multiple user interactions to do the same function (go back is either a swipe, left, down, or a button in the app, or a button at the top left) (incoming phone call screen can take one of 3 or 4 different forms depending on circumstances I cant seem to understand). Also the fact that your ringer volume is not tied to the volume buttons at all, and if you don't know how to dig into the settings your ears will be blasted by notifications through BT headphones. And you cannot disable certain sounds that are annoying and intrusive without silencing your whole phone ( I never need a screenshot to make a sound, I don't want the camera to make a sound, I don't want to hear 9 different reaction notifications from a group chat, and I don't want to mute my entire phone to achieve this)

There are many other features to worry about more than the camera quality. For example the iPhone still doesn't have the status bar on top and as an android user this was one of the reasons I couldn't bear the iPhone 15 max pro. The notifications in android are way better. The UX is better. The iPhone doesn't have that consistency in the way you do things. Some things you close by sliding, like others by tapping! You can't view a wifi password while you type it in iPhone. In my opinion iPhone is for mediocre users who dare not venture outside and discover all the wonders by android mobiles manufacturers

I'm from Argentina and everybody uses WhatsApp, it's a great app. In US the people have some type of fixation with iPhones but in the rest of the world people choose the best for them, it can be an android smartphone or an iPhone. Besides that, in my country iPhone owners are considered snob. I had an iPhone but now I'm with Samsung; I can go to another android brand but never again to iPhone, I got bored of it. I really like how I can customize my Samsung.

If they modify there OS to what we like in the east, they will start killing Samsung first and then iPhone. Competition is good 👍

I love my S24 ultra, and I just traded in my Galaxy watch 4 classic for the Galaxy watch 6 classic, the only thing I don't like is having to hack the blood pressure monitor onto the watch since samsung disables it in the USA, because the fda refuses to approve non cuff blood pressure monitoring. I wish they would just approve it, we know it's not as accurate as a cuffed blood pressure machine aka a sphygmomanometer, but it's good enough to see if your BP is running high or low. Like the FDA approved the ECG, the pulse oximeter, body composition measurement, stress measurement, sleep monitor, and the pulse rate sensor, but for some reason they draw the line at the BP monitor. After I calibrated the BP monitor I checked vs my cuffed BP machine and in both the systolic and diastolic it was off by one point. Sorry for the rant. I do hope you continue to enjoy the S24 ultra I know I will. PS since the Note 9 I cannot go to a phone without an S Pen.

I've pretty much tried it all. Been switching between between iPhone and various Android based platforms for as long as smartphones have been out. In my opinion, these days for the average user they work pretty much the same, flagship phones cost the same and they can do the same. It doesn't really matter for the average consumer. The major differences is that if you are interested in tech, apps or just generally nerding around with your phone, Android has a lot, and i mean a looooot more experimental apps and Android lets you do a lot more with your phone than Apple due to it's open source nature. Apple kind of wants to decide what you can do with your phone which is fine. Most people wont feel limited in their daily use of their iPhone.

Samsung Tablets have good hardware but not better software and that's really where it's at. On Android auto vs Apple car play but I'm sorry even the new UI on the Android auto fails mostly because on instability. I've tried really hard to use it but without question it is guaranteed to blow up before I get to my destination. people always say Apple is better because of the eco system. And that is true, but how many people really use the eco system to the full advantages? Professional people for work yes. I can see a journalist taking pics with the iphone and sending it to their macbook or ipad for editing etc.. but who honestly sits on the couch with their iphone and when they get a text gets up to use the ipad. (not many I bet.. I am sure there are some) you already have a big screen in your hand that works. why hassle with switching. I have an ipad, and iMac and my wife never uses the features. So in all honestly that is not a real reason to say why you stick with apple unless you really use the eco system. And watch and pods don't count. because android can do most of the same especially Samsung. (if you buy all their devices like apple)

With all due respect, I find it perplexing that many Americans, when discussing switching to Samsung or any android phone, often say, "I'm switching to Android!" This statement is misleading because there is no phone called "Android." Instead, there are various phones that utilize Android as their operating system. This inconsistency can make it challenging to discern which specific Android phone is being referenced. Conversely, when a Samsung user considers switching to an iPhone, they don't say, "I'm switching to iOS!" Instead, they simply state, "I'm switching to iPhone!" It's important to note that Android is the operating system used by Samsung, not the phone itself.
@malman_is_boiiii8 ай бұрын
Not many people for me say "Android". They either Say Galaxy, Samsung, or Huawei (rip?). But I understand, they know there are lots of Android phones and aren't in the know about what each of them is called. So they stick to one thing that seems on topic and call every Android phone that.
@Cutton_Candy768 ай бұрын
Yes, it's quite surprising that many people even refer to Samsung as "Android"! I first noticed this trend while watching numerous videos of Americans switching from the iPhone 15 to the Samsung S24 Ultra. Surprisingly, most of them simply said, "I'm switching to Android," instead of specifically mentioning Samsung.

I switched to a Pixel, but it's been quite dreadful. Before going back to Apple, I'm thinking of trying out Samsung, though I'm unsure how different it'll be. My main issue with the Pixel is its messy data management. With media, it creates unnecessary folders, making it a hassle to find said media. I just want all my photos and videos in one place, regardless of where they come from. If I want to organize them into albums, I'd rather do it myself. When it comes to downloads from browsers/apps, I expect them to go straight to my camera roll or music app depending on the file type, all while still being accessible in the Files app. The Pixel's software feels clunky and lacks refinement, just like most of the apps in the Play Store. Does Samsung fix these issues? Should I give it a shot, or are all Android phones like this?

I recently returned my Galaxy S24 and reverted to my original Galaxy S23. Despite the S24 boasting improvements like stronger glass, it fell short in crucial areas. Firstly, apps constantly force closed, disrupting usability. Secondly, its battery life was noticeably worse, draining much faster than the S23. Additionally, the S24 tended to heat up quickly, causing discomfort during prolonged use. While the S24 may offer some enhancements, such as stronger glass, these benefits pale in comparison to the significant issues experienced with app stability, battery life, and heating problems

I enjoyed being able to download torrents directly to my phone and stream the files to my google TV, also enjoyed the ability to use adguard to block ads and trackers systemwide. But everything else is a far cry, the app quality has a HUGE way to go compared to counterparts on iOS, the system animations I just couldn't find a way to make them nearly as smooth as on iOS. So in conclusion, I can see myself probably using a Google Pixel in the feature as I don't want to pay thousands for a new iPhone after my 15 Pro ages enough. I don't see smooth animations and a bit of app quality as enough to make me spend so much more when I can grab a used Pixel 8 for pretty much half price off of facebok marketplace just a few months after it got launched....
