AGREE 100%. Speaking from the perspective of a divorced US born citizen, who married a Colombian woman (in the US) who was a Venezuelan citizen, with the intent on doing life together in a healthy loving 'traditional American family' sense. I married for love and life partnership, to raise a family together in unity as a household. She did not. The reality is, after she used me to become a US citizen, have a baby born in the US, and have me sponsor her dad's status change to permanent resident of the US... she bounced. And when she did, I found out the hard way, not only that men and women ARE NOT EQUAL, but that the laws and legal system in the US is designed to profit off of the destruction of 'families, children, and the MEN (husbands and fathers)' no matter what kind of man he is. As a matter of fact, most family law attorneys work in cooperation with one another to dirty, delay and drag out the divorce process, because it is in their financial interest to do so. I agree with marriage in a Biblical sense, but I will never again be subjected to the state when it comes to my relationship with a woman or my children. Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me! Won't do it. It was a devastatingly painful experience that I made it thru by the grace of God, because I chose to accept the realities I faced and grow from them, becoming better; not bitter. And, because I have my son, one of the greatest gifts I have ever received, and the lessons learned... I wouldn't change a thing. Divorce is the worst kind of pain, but I am better for it, and years later... I realize she did me a favor by leaving when she did. So, even though I am in a better, healthier, stronger position today... I am not foolish enough to take those same risks in those same ways ever again, because there is no reward great enough to justify that risk. Marriage is a beautiful thing. I love marriage. I believe in marriage... before God; not govt. Wiser now, I will not make the same mistake when it comes to my love life and family. Those areas are not the business of the state in my life.

Hear me out…marriage contracts that expire after 5 years but can be renewed if both parties agree. Every 5 years you re-evaluate where the relationship is. If you’re both happy you renew the contract for another 5 years. If you’re having difficulties that you’re unable to overcome, end the contract and go your separate ways. No ugly divorce court.

I believe most men prefer to be in a committed relationship, if given the choice. The problem is the risk of failure and the penalties that go along with the risk. If the laws were made equitable and reasonable, then we would see the rates go back up. A man today is left with a few options. Maintain his home and finances separately while being with a woman in a non-common law state or leave and live full time for a male friendly country and select a woman there. If he does attempt to get married in the US he is fighting the state, legal system, court system and her if she decides at any moment she wants out.

My common law wife earned more than her ex-husband. She signed a pre-nup. He met someone new. The lawyer told her pre-nups were useless, they mean nothing and have no value whatsoever. They had no kids, and he had an excellent job. He still wanted her to pay equalization payments to allow him to live the life "he had become accustomed to". I love being married. I feel like i love my husband more today than the day we got married 10 years ago. We laugh, have fun, he's my best friend. Please m'am i know it's hard as a woman to think with logic but 50% of marriages end in divorce,and in the 50% left most of them are a facade out of necessity, few people have a really happy marriage, 80+% of these divorces are initiated by women, men pay the majority of alimony and childsupport, men have zero reproductive rights, i am not ready to be a father society's answers " should've keep it in your pant" a girl find herself in the same situation and suddenly everyone is extremely understanding. The juge can reject the prenups if you claim that it was under duress, wtf? Did you have a gun pointed at you? You might be tempted to tell me that if women file for majority of the divorces it is because of their men But here is another statistic , lesbian couples are the most likely to get a divorce, and gay couple are the least , see where i am goinf with that? The problem is not that every women would , the problem is every woman can. And it's scarry. Change the laws and yeah marriage will once again be great, however as long as we know it wont happen ... well the marriage rate is in an all time low and with the message of these dude and many like them it will keep decreasing.

Courts ignore prenups - especially in BLUE states. The issue isn't finding a good woman. Many do exist! The issue is dealing with corrupt divorce courts and terrible laws that incentivize women to leave marriages and absolutely ruin men's lives. If you DO find a good women, one of the ways you'll know she's good (read: shit test) is that she won't mind if you avoid involving the State in your marriage. *Pro tip: Never ever EVER let Uncle Sam weasle his way into your personal relationships!!! It's a recipe for disaster.

I dont agree with most of what they are saying. I've been married for 19 years now and no it hasn't been easy. It takes hard work,communication and its a neverending job to keep a marriage solid. I believe if you have a long dating or engagement period you can truly get to know a person which will make your marriage a little less surprising lol. (We dated for 5 years and engaged for 1).... Also I recommend marriage counseling before getting hitched. We did counseling for about 6 months.

Lol hilarious. I knew my 1st wife since age 6. Dated for 4+ years pre marriage. Divorced on the 3rd year of marriage. As soon as she got that marriage cake she shut her legs and all the intimacy down and expected for me to stay long term.
