Imagine the Automobile Industry/Valvoline today if the saying "The Greatest Thing since Sliced Bread" was "The Greatest Thing since Valvoline Restore and Protect"? Maybe that's what the Automobile Industry/Mechanics/DIYers of today will say... Its only been Widely available for about a Year now (late 2023-early 2024) in the US... I can imagine (and I must assume Valvoline's Marketing Dept if not their R&D is chomping at the Bit as well) to put VRP's "ActiveClean" and "Liqui-Shield" Additives in EVERYTHING... High Mileage Max-Life,Extended Protection, and Advanced might all benefit from even just a small "taste" of R&P... Heck I forgot about "Conventional"... the extra "kick" it might offer to the entry level options and/or into the small engine market) Suspect as some users have concerns about overwhelmed Oil Filters (although Valvoline claims it isn't/shouldn't be a problem at/with regular Oil change Intervals...)... The MaxLife and Extended Protection blends might need to be extra careful with going to heavy with it... Assuming "abused" or "dirty" engines might use those oils over more often?

@@lgoamity This truck has had twice ayear oil changes/mostly hiway miles/Penzioil-only/never been flushed/doesnt burn-leak oil. After 1st 1,500mile change, I did cut open filter found 1/32 inch of sludge in filter paper with a tiny pepping of metal and coffee ground bites of builtup dirt.stuff. Did a 2k change found no sludge or metal-etc stuff but filter was alittle dirty. This 3rd one Im going for 4,000mile mark for a change. Good Luck.

@@ZIGZAGBureauofInvestigation I've been documenting my 2014 GMC Terrain's 2.4L Ecotec's first VRP Change Interval with a couple of KZbin video shorts so far... I've got around 3136 miles on the VRP (and around 50 ounces of "top off" Full Synthetic Oils (about 20 Oz of 5W30 Quaker State DexosGen3, and the rest so far is Pennzoil (Non-Dexos), about 1/2 Quart was from burn/leak as of 3008 miles when I swapped out my XG9018 Fram Ultra Oil Filter for another (rest from loss to Oil Analysis Samples and drippage from Filter Cap Housing when checking the filter) ... Had previously checked the old filter at 811 miles and it basically looked much the same (although I could still see some "White" in the Pleats if pressed/scraped... The Filter media had "yellowed"/darken significantly)... Filter #2 after just 114 miles (VRP "blend" now at 3122 miles) still has "firm" Pleats, but are (I was sort of expecting to see a little white/streaks in the media) Jet Black... Not unusual for this vehicle with previous Oil and/or Filters so I'm unsure yet if VRP is doing as Valvoline claims and its "ActiveClean" is actually Atomizing the Carbon/Deposits and leaving it in the filter... If it is it at least isn't Sludging it up, but keeping it uniformly consistent with no particularly heavy buildup or evidence of "chunks" in the filter (wasn't a problem earlier either, but I do like the XG9018 does have a reinforced mesh backing which at least prevents/reduces the "twisting" of the Pleats, as is so commonly seen on other Ecotec Engines (like my 2003 Saturn ION) that use this style of Cartridge Filter... Was sort of expecting my 114 mile (even with "Old" 3122 mile used Oil) Filter to look much closer to how my Saturn ION (192K miles) did with its K&N Filter at 700+ miles, (still could see the distinctive Red K&N color hue of the Filter media and it was far "cleaner" looking then my Terrain so far... Maybe because the Terrain is GDI? Have had Oil Dilution issues with it, not so the Saturn) All in All a "Fun" experiment... Hoping the Oil Analysis will show continuing improvements as the VRP Interval(s) continue

There is honestly no reason to stop using it after 4 or 5 oil changes. It's meant to be used continuously and costs the same if not slightly less than ultra platinum. The only time I could think it would matter is if you're engine specifically calls for a special type of oil that is either higher weight(like a 40 or 50 weight) or has some sort of high zinc requirement because of the cylinder wall type or cams etc. But if you have a normal engine 5w30/0w20 engine, the biggest killer is going to be either the piston rings getting dirty or the lifters getting clogged. All these oils are going to fail to do what the restore and protect does. Non of them will clean it out like this. The hydraulic chain tensioners are another thing that should be kept clean.

Another useless anecdotal video on Valvoline P&R oil. There is literally not a single YT video that actually shows evidence that this stuff does what it claims.

Nothing is better than anecdotal impressions on consumer products. Measuring can only get so far, it's user experience that's what matters most. I've witnessed how good this oil is at cleaning any engine. I'm thoroughly impressed
