For the player addicted to sevens: - 3 Vamps (min. 1 Runner), 4 Thralls and 1Rerolls - 1 Vamp, Vargheist, 5 Thralls and 1RR - 9 Thralls and 2RR or drop the reroll for additional Thralls or a Vampire

If I'm not wrong that doesn't really work. As rerolls are 140K. 2 throwers 1 runner 4 thralls will net you 620k... I'm considering doing 3 vamps, 6 thralls, or 4 vamps 3 thralls and a blood sacrifice to Nuffle for good luck...

The throwers are basically just the old vamps with pass tacked on so it’s nice to see they are still solid

There is actually a maximum Vampire build that I plan on playing. It allows for the most amount of Vampires while minimizing Blood lust. Here is the starting roster: 2 Throwers 1 Blitzer (This will be a dedicated blitzer so he basically has BL 2+) 2 Runners 7 Thralls 3 Re-rolls 1 dedicated fan TV: 1 ,000,000

Your math is off by 40k… you could even get 7 thralls OR leave the Blitzers at home and take the Big Guy instead 😁

The Bat Ogre is the only Big Guy who's guaranteed to activate when you want him to. Sure, it's at the cost of occasionally causing a turnover, but as you state that's easily manageable. Plus he has claws, AV10+, AND he regenerates. All in all an excellent deal for the price.

@@38crippler exactly. All you need to do to manage your Bat Ogre is activate him last. It'll cost you his tackle zone from time to time, but it's not nearly as bad a nega-trait as it appears at first glance.

I can highly recommend the ACTUAL 5-3 build. 5 Rerolls and 3 Vampires. Being able to use multiple rerolls in a turn allows you to do some really dumb stretch plays early in the league.

2 throwers 1 vlitzer 1 runner vargheist 6 thralls 3rr Exacly 1.000.000 gp. Is the way i'm going to play them in the league starting next week and is the best way i see playing them. Having already played them a couple of games, i see the BG as a must, compensates the thralls killed by killing, and is the best part of the team, is just fun. Throwers are just better, i will use the blitzer for blitzing, so always activates at 2+, and the runner seems shit but having played him, is not that bad if you don't have masive bad luck and score the 1 when trying to score a TD. A don't see the 4th rr necesary, sacrificing a vampire. I played with 4 rr when they activated at 4+ and is massive change activate at 2+ now. You fail onece every two turns, aprox, (if you left the Bg the last and never bite with him, just let the tournover happen) and 1/2 times the thrall goes out. So if the throws are average, you lose a thrall every 4 tourns. Is a stat i can work with, and is better than the AS stat (with 4 old vampires you fail average 1.66 times per turn, 13,33 every part, half the time you break armour, so some 6,5-7 times a thrall will end face down or worst, compared to 4 times now with a better list; in fact, with AS, you lose by average, in ko or injured, some 3,33 thralls, and with bloodlust, you lose 2). Blood bowl is not aboput stats, but anyway, i feel is the only way i can value them for now. Yes, they change the playing stylle a lot, but i was very depressed about them yesterday, and today i'm very exited. I was, lucklly, wrong, i think.

after trying it more (half a dozen matches), yes, thts the way to go. You have to be very carefull with positioning, and leave the vargheist last and never bite with him, but thats why you play vaps, isn't it?. I have tryed with four vamps and four rr and the diference with the extra rr soen't compensate losing the killing machine that the vargheist is. And 2 blitzers are just worst taht the 1 blitz and vargheist combo, the vargheist is better killing people. So i will play the league that way, and see how it works.

Thanks for this, I built my team off this comment. After 6 games in our side league leveling them up (and getting used to how they play), I’ve won my first 2 league matches. Everything you said is true, though I sometimes find the Vargheist biting a Thrall worth it, to keep his tackle zone. This is such a balanced build.

Before watching this, I made a roster which happened to exactly be the 2nd one (5v/7th/3rr). Reasons why, BloodLust is not as bad as 2016. No longer vamps being sent off, vamps may choose to bite a thrall (even if ending next to one). So if you are running low on thralls, just choose to not bite any more (unless you really have to).

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if your strip ball blitzer hasnt already started next to a cage, you will be unable to both hypnogaze the cage player then move in next to the ball carrier to blitz him. NEVER MIND, FAQ says it’s it’s own action, like Blitz or Foul, so cannot perform any other action when you use Hypnotic Gaze.

I started a league team before viewing the video and ended up 2:2:2 with 6 thralls... The fickleties of bloodlust aside I dont find it to be the worst nega-trait. Even with limited rerolls, 6 amazing players is a case of not knowing how many you get to activate before that inevitable '1' could ruin your turn. As to how many thralls you should have, there are definitely times to take the Turn Over...

The Vergheist at 150k is almost unplayable. 3+ bloodlust and loner, good luck making it work

Blocking and Blitzing gives you Bloodlust (2+) and even if you fail it he can use its activation like normal. For a big guy bloodlust is one of the better negatraits.

i see it the pther way around. The Bg is a must, is the one that kills so you can compensate the lost of thralls. And blodlust allows you to do the action before tournover. So just activete the vargheist last, and he became one of the best bg in the game. Always work.
