I do like how a lot of Orion Experience songs are just 60s/80s songs where the metaphor/implication is also literal. Like, compare this to "Maneater;" they're both songs about sexually predatory women, but this one has enough specific detail that makes me pretty sure it's ALSO about a woman who *literally* eats men. "Obsessed With You" is a way more self-aware (and catchier) "Every Breath You Take." "The Cult of Dionysus" has the same kind of utopian vision and overt "the modern world is a spiritual wasteland but we can do better" messages as "Imagine" or "Love Train," but it's also literally about joining a cult. Love it, no joke.

that is actually an interesting thought. though "the cult of dionysus" doesn't need to be an actual cult by today's definition. it seems more likely that it's more just a name of a group because that's what the ancient Greeks who actually believed it are called. cults are kind of based on control and a religion based on freedom and expression is kind of opposite that
