The first time I ever skipped school was the day this album hit the shelf at the local record store in 1978. Four friends all pitched in our lunch money and walked into town, bought this album and went to one of our friend's house and put it on the turntable and just like that, our 6th grade world was rocked!

I remember when I was about 12, all us kids in the back of a pickup with a camper top on it, back window open, driving from Canton Texas to Possum Kingdom tx for a family reunion, singing along to this album all the way. I don't know how we're all still alive cause according to the "experts," we should've died from carbon monoxide poisoning back then or be dying from the effects of it now. But we made it and that album is still good listening!

Ah yes, Ice Cream Man off VH1!!! - one of the dirtiest songs ever without a single bad word in it. Van Halen brought the fun and spicy innuendo to classic rock. When they came out with that first album in 1978 it ushered in the good times of the 1980s. They were all about fun in the sun, cruising around in your or your friend's Camaro blasting a Van Halen cassette, and ice cold beers and hot ladies :)
