The greatest guitarist, the greatest front man, the best vocals (background - especially Michael Anthong - bass player - super high voice!), and incredible drummer!! The best band EVER!!! There will never be another band like the Might Van Halen!! Talent and Versatile!

Even the R&B / Pop world took notice of Edwards amazing talents & the Michael Jackson camp invited Eddie to do the guitar solo on Michaels hit song- Beat it - and...Eddie did it🎸

EVH didn't get paid because he was doing a favor for Michael. He didn't want to. He collaborated because it was what he wanted to do. But supposedly all he asked for was a case of beer. That man cared enough about this project that he didn't just do his solos. He rearranged the song too, made it better and did it all in under an hour as well as setting the monitor speakers on fire during one of those solos haha. But regardless of how we all feel about it cause he should've gotten paid. If it was his decision then I respect it.

When this song came out, I was in high school and just learning how to drive. A 1976 Volkswagen Rabbit with a touchy clutch. Too much throttle the front wheels will burn rubber. Not enough throttle meant the Rabbit will stall out. I named the Rabbit, The Ripping Rabbit. My parents also had a 1976 Toyota Corolla that was automatic. I passed my driving test using the Corolla. Lol

He certainly was a great guitarist, but don’t forget the ones that influenced him like Ritchie Blackmore jimmy page Eric Clapton also Allan Holdsworth. without them, there would be no Van Halen, iron maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica Aerosmith, queen, and that’s just off the top of my head.

Oh there would definitely been a VH without Metallica :) VH came out in 78 and instantly was massive. They hit hard. Crushed and absolutely DOMINATED for 5 straight albums and multiple world tours.... all before Metallica recorded their 1st album.

Nice, original Van Halen, from their first couple albums is their best stuff. The original Guitar Solo Eruption led into the first song and amplified the effect, they were so new and exciting when they came out. I saw them on their debut tour open for the original Black Sabbath. It was our introduction to Eddie Van Halen, when he ripped into Eruption, all us hard core Sabbath fans stood on our chairs trying to see this new, white Jimi Hendrix just kill it in a several minute solo into the cosmos. We were a little nervous after their set if an old school band like. Black Sabbath could hold up after one of the best and most surprising opening sets I had seen up to 1978. As soon as War Pigs started and the sirens started blaring we knew who the headliner should still be. I love Eddie, in my top 10 but so is Tony Iommi, the king of riffs. Thanks for more great music reactions, still worth hearing these great tunes with first timers! The wonder on reactors faces is a thrill for us old timers. Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
