It’s never gonna happen. All they want to hear is rap, “gansta’ rap, hip hop or r&b”. They aren’t diversified in any other music from any other eras. They may know a “few” words from a song, but not the song entirely or who the group or singer/songwriter is.

Something to think about one of Sammy's lies is Eddie was only in the biz for the money . 1984 never made out to be the number one album because Eddie did Michael Jackson's song Beat It FOR FREE . Also around that time he was also doing a FREE ENDORSEMENT DEAL with Kramer guitars so the company could keep their costs down . Their deal with the Floyd Rose Tremolo company kept their profit margin low . Eddie LOVED the Floyd Rose system and decided to endorse for the company so future buyers could get a better deal .

@@dnciskkk9037 And we survived! That is the important thing. When my daughter, at the age of 6 (in '87) fell off her bike and skinned her knee, she came to me crying. I told her to go wash the knee and then go back outside, get on the bike and when you fall again, make sure to fall on the other knee so you can have a matched pair. It would have never occurred to me to put knee and elbow pads and a helmet on her. She was riding a bicycle not a motorcycle, and kids are supposed to fall off and get skinned knees. It makes them tough! And don't even ask me how MY childhood was in the 60's. It would probably make these young parents today have a heart attack just reading about it. Let's just say I got my skinned knee -- but on a dirt bike after being drug for about 30 feet. It only took 20 years for all the gravel to work it's way out! Thank you God for having me born in 1961, and allowing me to be a parent in the 80's!

"Goin' Crazy" from his first solo album called "Eat 'Em and Smile" is crazy hilarious too. Dave had a real knack for incorporating humor into his artful expressions of music. No disrespect whatsoever to the other members of VH, as they are all GOATs in my opinion - but the band he put together to write, record and tour for that album was also GREAT! It was Gregg Bissonette (drums), Billy Sheehan (bass), and Steve Vai (guitar)...check that out if you haven't already. Peace!

Back in the day I was huge metal head, listening especially Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC...etc, etc but Van Halen we’re right up there in my eyes. Not only were they musically technically brilliant but their entertainment value was off the charts. Diamond Dave was the ultimate loveable clown frontman and, in my humble opinion, was an amazing studio vocalist. Live vocals could be a bit hit and miss but cocaine, whiskey and being ADHD probably had a lot to do with that.

Back in the 80's , I was at a Car stereo sound off . There were a couple of hundred cars in this huge mall parking lot and they got everyone to tune to the same FM Radio station , ( I think it was 99.0 The Fox in Vancouver ) , every car cranked their stereos and they played Panama ....... thousands of watts of power . Man , what a thrill . That memory still gives me goosebumps .

When I saw David Lee Roth on his solo tour the stage had giant inflated ladies stocking'd feet spread to each side of the stage. He surfed on a surfboard into the crowd and he had pop up devils that spit Jack Daniels out over the crowd. The man can put on a show! Again, David Lee Roth "Just a Gigalo/I Ain't Got Nobody" DaveTV version is pure cheese and shows a lot of lookalike vids from the mid/late80s era also. Check it out and laugh!

Van Halen - 1984 Is my #1 album of all time. You could play this album 50 years from now and it will still be great. Every single track was a homerun. I LOVE this album. david Lee Roth had his fair share of solo hits as well. He picked of Steve Vai on a few of his albums!! Goin' Crazy and Just a Gigalo are a couple of great tunes! His solo record Skyscraper is timeless as well.
