Love how everyone thinks they are a music expert lmao. This is VAN HALEN. They single handed-ly changed the way people rock and roll. Eddie Van Halen is greatest guitarist to ever see the light of day! And Diamond Dave may be a little off, but even he is one of the greatest front men that rock has ever seen! Get a life people! Van Halen doesn't need to prove themselves anymore.

Someone who thinks they know what the perfect sound of music is and thinks that a musician must always sound the same from a studio recording and live performances, and doesn't take into consideration the aging process that these musicians have undergone. Opinions vary, but I'm addressing Roth's voice and how everyone thinks it's beyond gone when in reality he still has the tone and sound, he just needs to stick to his lower "Van Halen" sound and not yelp some of the lyrics. Voice isn't like a guitar, it doesn't go through effects and processing to sound the same as it once did.

Darrin Moore I bet that if you have a masked Edward van Halen expain in a KZbin video exactly how he played certain licks from the old albums there are plenty of peopel around who will pop up to tell him that he does it completely wrong, that is tone sucks and that he can't play for shit. And I agree with you on DLR. I think he was never a great singer btw, but I really suspect some people to just click on VH live video's for the sole purpose of saying that his voice sucks and that he is not jumping around like a 20-something yo. It is all kind of pathetic when you think about it. This is indeed VAN HALEN, a band that inspired many, many other bands and musicians. They don't make them like this anymore.

These guys have been doing this for 40 years! The exception is Wolfie. These guys are on stage doing what they know best. That's entertaining those who bought tickets. But you need to remember these guys are probably hurting too. They don't show it on stage. Ed has been hammering on those guitars 40 plus years. Think his hands don't ache? Dave, with all those aerial stage antics, his vocals and screams.. Why do you think his voice is a little shot, or he can't FLY AROUND DOING SPLITS. Please remember before you put them down. They've worked a lot harder than some of you doing the complaining. So let the rest of us enjoy the music. Thanks!

The great thing about bands like Van Halen sticking around is the young kicks here Eddie and then they pick up the guitar, and the music continues, much like myself in the 80's going back listening to Cream Zeppelin, the point is Eddie can still influence the next generation of guitar players that is what makes Van Halen still relevant and important,

Most of the cabs are probably empty (no reason to have road crew pile up those cabs when he's using 3 bottom ones only) and wouldn't be surprised if most of the heads are too. The actual head he's playing through isn't even on the stage, it's on the side feeding his rack.

Yeah Dave might not be able to jump and kick up all his acrobatics, BUT HE WAS THE MAN AT ONE TIME. AT LEAST HE'S ATTEMPTING TO BE AS ENTERTAINING AND ENERGETIC AS HE USED TO BE. He can still carry a tune unlike a few aging ROCKSTARS , so keep rockin' DAVE and bring back your OLD LOOKS, YOUR PERSONA WE ALL WANNA SEE YOU IN.🎤🤩 How easily we are to criticize his aging AND WITH A QUICKNESS...! Stop and think, WHEN YOU GET OLD and can't do what you used to do and everybody enjoyed it then, and NOW YOU ARE A HAS BEEN, where will you be...? Midlife crisis, dudes go buy a sports car, get a younger chick, TAKE VIAGAR..! Ladies divorce your old man get a younger one FULL OF LIFE WITH MORE MONEY ...LOL The possibilities go on and on.🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣 I for one LOVE VH, always have, I particularly LOVE THE DAVE DAYS... As SHOCKINGLY lacking in self-awareness, that were comments made by Gene Simmons toward DLR are, watching him now, some 14 YEARS ago, show that he wasn’t even CLOSE to having it BACK THEN! Vocalists have more pressure than the rest of the band COMBINED! And don’t even get me started on the gum, or denture chewing that he does ALL THE TIME anymore. I would NEVER quit on bands that I LOVE, but you have to know when to say when….(looking at YOU as well, Stanley and Simmons….)

@@WAM4EVER yeah, I saw a performance by him in Vegas, and he was just walking around, thrusting his arms forward occasionally, and attempting high-kicks, which went terribly wrong. It seemed like he just wanted it over with, and I kinda did, as well. DLR will obviously NEVER be the performer he was in the 70’s, 80’s,etc., but I think you fine-tune your act to accommodate your age. People want YOU, and they want the SONGS. I have a feeling that people understand this, and aren’t expecting the insane (physically,) frontman we loved from the past.

Admit to being a latecomer to the Van Halen party (and what a party it was) but could a diehard fan tell me why Michael Anthony was treated so poorly? ‘Like Wolfgang (very talented) & get the father-son relationship but…I mean, take this clip for instance. He appears to block sight of one of the most, if not the most, famous drummers of all times. Am I being too harsh or unrealistic? Remember I’m new to this following. Just curious. Thanks.

I’ve read multiple articles that the Van Halen ( mainly Edward ) brothers thought Michael Anthony didn’t contribute any music or lyrics etc so he didn’t deserve equal pay. He did have a great voice though.I think Edward’s alcoholism was so bad too . Alex usually went along with Edward because blood is thicker than water as the saying goes. In this video it from this angle it looks like Alex’s drums are blocking him. I don’t know if you know about Wolfgang’s band “ Mammoth WVH “ or not but check him out. He’s insanely talented. He wrote, sang and played all instruments for the studio recording for his album. The band is currently opening for Guns n Roses. Oh if you haven’t seen the original/official video for unchained I definitely recommend it. 💥🎸💥

@@gigitonsvajv Thanks for the feedback. Agree, his son is an enormous talent. And, coming up on anniversary of EVH’s death, pretty certain he’s still grieving. I’ll check his band out. Thanks again.

I am sure he was glad not to be there. Doing backing vocals to these lead vocals are a hell of a task. DLR should have retired more than 20 years ago. And it got worse later on...
