Van Life | 7 Clutter-free Gift Ideas for TINY Spaces!

Thank you for the gift ideas. I was in San Diego this past week and met a family of five plus a medium sized Husky living in an older model Dodge minivan. Both parents were laid off before Thanksgiving. I was amazed at how well behaved the three young children and the Husky were. I felt sad for them to have lost a valuable asset just before the Holidays. However, they seemed to be very proud people. As I was reorganizing my van and the food bins, I realized I had lots of food products I had not touched. Before they woke up I left two plastic bins of food, candy, fruit, canned goods and a gift card to Old Navy, enough to buy clothes for the entire family and a Petco gift card for their dog. I also wrote them a letter wishing them well and thank them for giving me their friendship. Giving is so rewarding for me and especially to those in need.

I’m so thrilled they have their fur baby with them! 🎉 I’d never part with my fur babies. Rather live in my minivan with them than in a mansion without them.❤

Gifting is such a minefield. I've tried to persuade everyone I know that any material thing they give me is a bit of a curse. The best way for anyone to gift to weirdos like me is to share their time. I love how you're sharing your time to make this season of joy work for us all.

Loved all the gift tips and ideas Ms Dee. Really like the big cotton tote, especially that it had the shoulder strap. I have a pet hair remover tool because of my Shepherd. It gets hair out of the van carpet that the vacuum won't touch. It is SO satisfying using it! I love all your gift ideas, any of them would be perfect. I like the Gaia app for documentaries and it is $99 a year.

I've got one of those carpet scrapers and use it on my stairs (we have three cats) and you wouldn't believe how much stuff it gets up. Best carpet tool, way better than vacuum cleaners.

Just a caution regarding the magnetic card holder. If your phone gets stolen then so does your wallet - and vise versa. I recommend keeping your phone and wallet separate for this reason. That way if they get your phone you still have your wallet and if they get your wallet you still have your phone.

I use a regular pet brush on the carpets and furniture, it gets up a lot of fur too. I know we haven't been on a date yet! Lol but I'm glad you're low maintenance... I was going to give you a toothpick, a bandaid, a rubber band and a matchstick!! Lol They are all useful in their own ways! Hahaha the little hair tool cracked me up! I clean homes for a living for myself so I am extremely aware of how much hair everyone sheds. Trust me, you're so not alone. One of my rich clients that are very clean people have so much hair in their master bathroom, I always dread cleaning it. Lol but, I didn't know that tool existed. Very good ideas for gift giving to my future van life self. Hehe the little mini bag sealer is awesome! And I love the toothbrush holder. Must have indeed. I bought a used cordless vacuum for 5 bucks for my van and I have a couple of tiny vacuums for like hard surface crumbs that actually work well on my cats hair because of the brush feet. But, I know it will be something I'll do daily because it is a small space....but the idea of having the time to do it daily is thrilling. Hehe happy trails!

Yes!!! It works great. I use it mainly at night for about 10-15 minutes before bed to get the back heated up before snuggling into covers.
