The fuel line is transmitting the noise. Take the same precautions to soft mount the fuel line as you do the fuel pump. Think about the old two cans connected by a string telephone game. Same thing is happening through the fuel line.

I think if you ever decided to sell merch, you could make a fortune off the "Foresty Forest, cooking in a van" cookbook. Indexed to all your videos where people can watch you make the wings, ribs, stews, soups etc. What a cool pdf that would be. Plus it would drive traffic back to your videos and all that glorious ad revenue would keep piling in. It'd be your personal version of inception I think. lol ;)

That steam escaping, both before the pressure seal kicks in and after it is released is a massive amount of energy being wasted. By manually engaging the pressure seal as you turn on the unit, and by reducing the 'cook time' to just 1 minute and allowing the pressure to release naturally (as well as disabling any 'keep warm' settings), you should be able to pretty dramatically reduce the power consumption. I'd also use half as much water since you only need very little to make steam and engaging the seal manually will mean none of the water escapes (and the chicken will release water as it heats up). As for the airfrying, it's kind of the opposite in that you want there to be as little moisture in there as possible, as youre just wasting all the energy needed to vaporize it, so I'd recommend you drain any liquid and then allow the chicken at least ~5m exposed to the open air near the vent fan, this will dramatically reduce the moisture content in the skin (something most professional chefs do when crisping any kind of meat) and thus the amount of time and energy needed to crisp them (as well as increasing their overall crispiness). I'd wager you could knock off at least 25-50% of the energy consumed with some tinkering. Good luck!

I have kitted out a couple of rehearsal studios to know a thing or two on sound isolation... the most important aspect of having successful sound isolation is an air-tight seal. In comparison to normal construction you basically seal every crevice in the construction, and preferably build two walls with an air gap in between.... In this case, I don't know how much of the sound is transported through the fuel line (I have only dealt with drums, not fuel pumps) ;), but the basics is that you need sealant for all the joints of the box. Also a tight rubber seal on the lid. And I guess a couple of tight o-rings for the fuel line. A way to further isolate the sound is to build a air tight box around the box... The dampening material only helps with the intensity of the sound, not the volume, it doesn't isolate the sound. If it feels worth it, you can give it a go. But I am afraid that the fuel line is actually transporting sound and it will be impossible to get rid of the sound completely.
@adrianwilliamson6861
@adrianwilliamson6861 3 жыл бұрын
Good points. I also thought maybe a double skinned box with an air gap made from perspex maybe more a better medium than wood? You still have the lines to deal with as you point out.

Only half way through and had to pause to say...favorite KZbin content and how awesome you are. The drone shots haven’t even came yet. I wouldn’t mind my tv cable bill if you had a station on it.

FF needed to see/hear you eat each individual onion ring, one by one, for the ASMR value alone!!😳

I’m a little bias but I think we have the most beautiful mountains west of Calgary. The Canadian Rockies are my quiet place where I go to refresh my soul. I can’t hike much anymore but a slow and steady stroll along the trails puts a little spring back in my step. Love love love your videos, be safe🇨🇦🥰

"Semi truck lullabies" ... hahaha.. Love it, so much so, I shall write a song about it. Seriously, that's actually a great title and concept for a song. Stay tuned!

I chuckle as you make your comments..love your sense of humor ❣️ OMG....I do not like heights. My stomach tightens up watching you ascend and descend. But...I keep on watching. LOL 😂 Might be the only rush I get. Keep on doing your thing!

I really enjoy the high speed descent video sequences. Slim P. also had no luck getting his fuel pump to be quiet.

Great video as always Foresty, sorry the pump did not work out as planned. Was in a garage once waiting on my truck when another driver came in complaining about the noise his bunk heater was making at night and wanting to know what his options were. The mechanic tossed him a box of those foam ear plugs and replied, "Try these or don't turn the thing on."🤣 I hope when Crock Pot goes to it's resting place, you will include a request for future climbers to send you a video of their visit.
