This works out great on drizzling … rain days. You’ve installed it so it completely blends in aesthetically too. I like the tip on how to cut the caulk end for an easy glide. I never knew about that 😉 I’m very happy with the way this turned out - it’s much better than what I was struggling with… with the water when using the door during a rain. ❤️

Hello Jonnie & Kelly. First Jonnie I just want to say you have the best organized, neat and cleanest work shop I have ever seen. Love it. This rain guard was amazing and I think it's actually something I can do (I hope). I also appreciate the great tip for the caulking tube notch. I have always had such a hard time with caulking and am looking forward to trying this. Thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to share this. From your 15 minute away neighbor.

@@JonniesJourney Thank You Jonnie for all you do for your viewers! When you announced the meetup, I really wanted to come, I even tried to sign up. I'm not very good with this sort of thing and couldn't do it myself. Unfortunately before I could get help, another commitment came up for September 10-16, helping my daughter while her husband is out of town with my 3 year old and 4 month old granddaughters (also 2 dogs and 1 cat). I was so dissapointed, as I was really hoping to meet you and Kelly at an event which is sort of close to home. So hopefully another time will present itself in the future. I know you all will have a great time and I hope the weather cooperates. Stay Safe, but have FUN! You are awesome!!!

Cool, Jonnie. I can see a bunch of scenarios where that hack will come in really handy. Love the tip about notching the caulking spout too. Thanks. I do wonder what will happen on a really hot day in the sun -- will that Gorilla tape stay stuck? Hmmm. Just sane... :^) Saint

@@JonniesJourney Cool, please let me know. FYI, I was also also thinking (OMG) you could form some sort of stopper/end cap from a dab of two part silicone (prolly cast a bunch of them in one fell swoop) -- maybe even incorporate a length of aquarium tubing -- to channel the water away. Might add that to your arsenal in a heap of builds, eh. Dammit, now I'm gonna have to try it. Arrggghhh... Just (barely) sane... :^) Saint

Man you remind me of me. I've flipped houses and done van conversions on a dime using common sense and creative use of materials my entire life. Constantly scoffed at or told " that's not the right way to do it " .. but later having that person say " wow that really works " .. I found this video and glad I did. I had thought of j channel but didn't like that idea due to the weight and how easily it could get bent. Also it wouldn't contour to the roof shape. Did you have any issues with it ? I worry about cracking if it fills with water and freezes or becoming brittle .. great idea though. Nothing more valuable than a person with common sense and ability
@JonniesJourney Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. It is funny indeed how someone will always have some kind of input and rarely come back and "oh, that worked/turned out nicely. The rain guard works great for small amounts of rain and for the morning dew but for big rain storms, not so much. Patty does not find herself in freezing temperatures so it has held up well.
