I always feel like I've just been to the most amazing church when I listen to this beautiful man.

“In East Belfast where Georgie knows best, what’s it like to be Daniel in the lions den; got so many friends only most of the time”. Vans clever play on words - George Best was one of the greatest soccer players in the world at the time (even Pele rated him as one of the greatest) he was from same part of Belfast as Van and sadly drank himself to death. Couldn’t deal with Fame Deep song - made me chuckle when you said he needed a nap after this one - it’s said that he would be exhausted sometimes after recording a song like this - great reaction as always 👍👏

Many of Van's songs (his best?) create a trance-like mood. His amazing voice, just another instrument, floating in an out of the incredible mix of the sounds of the other instruments. While his lyrics can play a huge part of the song, they aren't always necessary for me to understand in order to completely get wrapped up in the music.

Thank you for the Van guys! Please guys do an early Van Morrison called TB Sheets. It's about a young man trying to deal with his girlfriend dying of tuberculosis. It's Van's raw emotions on display, it's epic...

Hello La & Che, I thought I'd suggest a couple more songs by "Van the Man", if interested. 1st the title track is fire ❤🔥 "Van Morrison - Days Like This (Official Video) [VEVO]" (by the channel: Van Morrison) --This song is from Morrison's twenty third studio album released in 1995. and the 2nd) "Van Morrison - Wild Night" (by the channel: Van Morrison) --this song was written and released as an opening track from Morrison's fifth studio album called "Tupelo Honey." And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you two. And Thanks for sharing. peace out~

Nice to see you digging into his discography between the usual few, old tunes. I think he's gotten better with age. Hope you keep exploring his work of the last 2 decades.

No flute anywhere on the album.. There is an oboe and some flugelhorn although it doesn’t specify which tracks.. That’s his daughter singing backup at the end of the song… That’s a great track.. I’ve never heard it before…

Sounds like a penny whistle commenting throughout the track. There’s flugelhorn at the top, for sure.

I as a kid I thought Van was a black man. Mom played the heck out of him growing up starting my love for him. So soulful and honest and I was floored to find out he's white and with red hair. only other mistake was with Stevie Ray Vaughn, who I thought was also black. They are(were)the darkest white guys in music
@JeffSchreiber99Ай бұрын
Gregg Allman also. I played One Way Out for some soul sisters working at the Post Office. When I told them the singer was a white boy from Macon, they screamed “No Way!”
This was a new Van song for me. Started out thinking it wasn’t one of his best, but it grew on me greatly by the end. Still think he might have John Lee Hookered a bit too much towards the end. 😉
@annbeguity59324 ай бұрын
I *think* the horn coming in at the very end may have been an oboe … but don’t hold me to that 🤓 Also heard some harmonica.
