Firing AVP but keeping Mayo would be one of the worse things that the PATS could do... Mayo is horrible, but keeping him and hiring a new OC would ensure that Maye would have 3 OC's in 3 years after Mayo is fired after year two, a horrible situation for talented young QB. If they're not going to fire Mayo this season, they must keep AVP. Maybe get someone else on the staff to do the play calling would be a mitigating plan before Mayo hits the road at after the second season.

I can see the logic behind firing AVP, but he’s been the only coach/coordinator that seems to have shown some promise this season. Regardless, firing AVP alone this season would be the equivalent of changing your shirt after you crapped your pants. The problem is Mayo and it will remain a problem until he is gone.

I think if AVP had a line he might be able to open the book a little but only time will tell, Covington took a top five defense and it's bottom five now and mayo either needs to grow up and be a head coach, or we need to find a replacement who will be a head coach and hold himself and other accountable and make people run when they continue doing penalties.

@polandfresh101 people can change but the first step is wanting to change and getting the help needed. If he doesn't see anything wrong with the way he's going, then yeah he's gotta go, but I mean parcels changed and became a HOF coach.

I have ZERO faith Mayo will turn it around because he’s simply an entitled ignorant jerk, who takes zero accountability. He wasn’t qualified for the job from the jump. Kraft needs to rip the damn bandaid off for the future of the franchise.

KEEP AVP!! I Understand the frustration but because Drake Maye is developing well you do not want to give him another coordinator for another year. That will be the 4th OC in 4 years........The offense only has 6 players that should be starters in the NFL. Upgrade the players on offense! Plain and Simple. Covington is a necessary change however.

We had the 10th best defense last year and only won 3 games. Upgrading the offense is the only way back to respectability. AVP is a pedestrian play caller.
