Great find! Beautiful old graveyard. 300 year old inscriptions still readable, amazing! Reading their names is wonderful. Imagine someone saying your name after 300 years in memoriam! Good shout out to the vandals 👍🏻

Beautiful graveyard! There was such a wide range of burial dates. The 92 year old man would’ve been born in the 1600s! I especially love the graveyards with church ruins within. They add so much context to the lives of the deceased.

What wonderful walk through a lovely, half-hidden cemetery Cathal! Really old headstones and monuments and I really loved the ruins of the old chapel. Small and quaint, it still had a few names from my family's past history. I enjoyed this immensely! Love & Hugs, Janet

What a beautiful old grave yard. Overgrown, but that lush green grass sets off the stones nicely. I'm always amazed when you can actually see the inscriptions on the old stones; there are much newer stones that are almost wiped clean. It does make you remember that medicine has come a long way when you see graves of young people knowing they would have been just fine today. Keep up the great work!

It's crazy to see some graves of people so young as 13 from the 1700s and then a 92 year old from same time. Mind boggling

Great video. Enjoyed it very much. Reading some of the comments, it seems like some people have got the feeling that you're thinking of perhaps ending doing these videos. Please don't lose heart. It can take time sometimes to get channels off the ground and catching the attention of other viewers. Perhaps, maybe once a month or however often you feel necessary, do a video where you focus on someone well known or famous who you know the burial place of (after research obviously), and then maybe people will begin to see your channel. It doesn't have to necessarily be someone who has recently passed on. It could be someone from the 1700's who did something which changed the path of many people in Ireland, or in the UK as a whole - or even the world! You could also ask viewers to share your videos with their friends. Send a link or whatever, and hopefully they'll do a bit of advertising on your behalf. Please don't lose faith. You're doing a really great 'job' and people really do enjoy your channel. I feel that things will eventually take off for you. Just find a way of connecting with more viewers and you'll grow your audience. Sending hugs and love ~ Cobs (UK)

What a wonderful look at the incredible stonework! (Also the pointed arch is a first)! I sure will miss seeing these historic areas! Darby reminds me of “Darby O’Gill and the Little People” a movie I watched when young. That cross with butterfly is so touching. All the shades of green, all at once. So many graves that predate our country in the USA. I love Irish first names, especially. So lovely. ❤ Will Sue keep her channel up or no? Thank you GV. ❤❤❤❤❤

Good job GV, for giving those vandals a shout out! For myself, I would rather give them a good swift kick, in the A$$ and then the middle finger 🖕 I assume you guys have that gesture in Ireland 🇮🇪 Graveyard and ruins were fascinating, like you said, a little overgrown. It is great to see that many of the headstones 🪦 are still legible. Thank you very much GV, for a great walking tour. Take care. 😊

Question if you might know .Why are the churches abandoned so many of them
@GraveVisitations Жыл бұрын
Irish Catholics had their churches destroyed by English power, from 1601 of the beginning from the mid seventeenth century, and riotously in the the mid-seventeenth century by Oliver Cromwell's army. Catholics prayed secretly at “mass rocks”.
