Hi Astro, don't know the cuisinart machine, but what makes this machine very good is the rpm's in which it churns the ice cream, find one with high rpm and the results should be good too :)

You can get this machine in Australia from a couple of place. It is 229v & has Australia standard plug as well. Just google MUSSO mini ice cream, there will be a few choices pop up. I want one of this as well - seriously making my decision in this few days .
