Hi Dr. V, I am 24 and your videos have been absolutely life changing for me. You have taught me everything I know about skincare. Now, when I shop for skincare, I always look at the ingredients and make sure the product is NAFE safe. The first major change I did after watching your videos was ditching anything that had fragrance in it and it has done wonders for my skin. This is the skincare routine I follow, but i want to incorporate 10% Niacinamide with Zinc, 2% Alpa Arbutin with 1% HA, 0.3% Retinoid and Vitamin C. But i don't know where to add these and how to layer. Please help. 1. CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser 2. Dr. V, I’m using CeraVe’s PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion, which you’d recommended, and I love it. Would you say it can also be used to hydrate the eye area or could it be irritating to the eye area?

Aesthetician here! It should most certainly be suitable around the eye- the one thing is it has niacinamide which is normally well suited around the eye area but some people have sensitivity to it. If you feel stinging around the eye with it stop use around the eye and grab a more simple lotion to use around the eye.

Dr v I wanted to ask about emulsifying ointment. I’ve trying using it on my lips as my lips have been stingy/uncomfortable since I started retinoids (0.2 retinol). I don’t know if I have ‘lip eczema’ per se but even before started applying topical Vitamin A, I literally couldn’t leave the house without my pot of Carmex (the salicylic acid recipe) bc without it my lips would literally shed skin like a snake. I recently heard that I shouldn’t be putting a bha on my lips, even though it’s been working for me all these years, I’ve been trying to find a alternative. Hence my questions 😅 Can’t wait to buy that retinaldehyde product and also will be needing to replace my inzincable soon! It’s great!
