I love what she says about the guys on the show being considered actors and the girls were just playing versions of themselves. Sexism!
@ginao68107 ай бұрын
Also that people never got that they were deliberately written to be annoying and lacking in self-awareness. That was part of the conceit, but people couldn’t give the writers credit for that. It would be like watching It’s Always Sunny and whinging “I’m not going to continue watching this. Dennis Reynolds is not a very nice person!” Women in their twenties can’t get credit for anything
@DualityUnlimited6 ай бұрын
I was never a fan of this series but the media context around Girls is fascinating and continues to add layers. I don’t think the guys are vastly more talented than their female counterparts the way their careers trajectories would indicate. Lena isn’t a great actress but she’s not the worst actress ever and her acting didn’t limit the series. I’ve always had a crush on Allison Williams.

@TheBrainFlow7 ай бұрын
It was almost an integral trait of the show. When we’re young we ARE unbearable, dramatic, all of it whilst trying to make the best of it and also have fun and not get f*cked by life. It’s a tight rope to walk lol Lena really captured that vibe. They were all very chaotic but yet full of potential.
