I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching all of your creativity at work. You are amazing at what you do and I really appreciate you sharing your talents and skills and helping those of us that don't have quite the same creative mind.... Also, the Casey Kasem-esque voice takes me back to my childhood with America's Top 40 every Sunday night, lol. Thanks for sharing, keep up the amazing work!

Easy & looks great...another great hint...if you need rivets, & you'll be painting your item, plastic googly eyes make awesome looking rivets once painted over.

I've used upholstery tacks to achieve this for a long time. If it's in foam, I'll use wire cutter to nip off part of the tack, and just superglue the tack in place. Works great to cover up mistakes.

In the first Avengers film all the bolt heads in the main room and a few others of the Helicarrier were made similarly. A two part pourable epoxy was used in much larger molds for mass production. Bonus fact: The window where the pilot sits was a custom 3 inch thick acrylic piece with a seamless curve made by a company that makes aquarium glass.

Just recieved my shoretrooper helmet sticker from your etsy store to finish my helmet build. Well packaged and fast shipping, but the best part. A free Van Oaks sticker came with it to dress up my laptop. Keep up the best content on YT. We appreciate you.

Great tip! I wish I knew this before I 3D printed 50 fake bolts lol. And I wasn't familiar with surebonder before this - they have some interesting stuff! We use a lot of hot glue at our Escape Room.

That’s so awesome! I just recently made a similar mold to use up extra resin when I’m casting things! A surplus stash of cosmetic hardware is always helpful!!!

They're awesome. The fact that they have resin in them makes them perfect for this application and others like it.

A quick mold option is 100% silicone caulk and dish soap.

Dish soap? Is that used to keep the silicone from sticking to the item?

I found if you blow across the surface of the mold bubbles will also rise, maybe because I am creating a low pressure area there like a vacuum pump would?

Oh man after making a silicone mold why not use the cheapest, bargain basement resin? Hot glue always sags,distorts, moves around in the hot/cold storage cycles.
@VanOaksProps
@VanOaksProps Жыл бұрын
This one doesn’t. It’s softening point is 190 and is resin based. It’s literally the best of both worlds.
