You forgot megatron having anti matter manipulation, and both can fly, both are point 1 percenters the transformer equivalent of marvels mutants. Both also survive fighting, Grimlock, predaking, Shockwave, Unicorn Nova Prime, Nemesis prime, Galvatron, Unicron, the Decptigod/ D vold, Starcream and Shockwave and both fought Megatronus aka the fallen

Orion Pax & Megatronus both wished to end corruption & bring equality to Cybertron, but were torn apart by their methods, Orion sought arbitration, believing peaceful reform was possible, but Megatronus (who shortened his name to Megatron) sought violent revolution, believing it to be the only course of action against Sentinel Prime’s corrupt government.

Yeah. That’s why I prefer the G1 origin of Optimus Prime: As a young Orion Pax, he looked up to Megatron only to be dismissed and severely wounded by the latter. Pax was sent to Alpha Trion for repairs, and became Optimus Prime. It was like Syndrome’s in The Incredibles, but almost 2 decades earlier. IMO the fan-turned-arch enemy was fresher than best-buds turned worst enemies backstory.

The Transformers: Prime introduction narrated by Ratchet (Jeffrey Coombs) is still one of the best depictions of the origins of Orion Pax/Megatronus and how the two leaders came to be. It also sounds god tier epic and inspires hope when you hear the story. I hope Transformers One faithfully captures the awe, wisdom and cunning of how Optimus and Megatron came to be.

Fun fact for those unfamiliar: • The Matrix of Leadership was originally the jewel within the Star Saber’s hilt, which belonged to the 1st Prime, Prima, who was the oldest and the leader of the 13 Primes, very 1st Cybertronians made to aid Primus (*a.k.a. Cybertron’s true form and basically “Robo-God”*). • Alpha Trion is the 3rd of the 13 Primes. • The 12th Prime, Megatronus (*Megatronus Prime by fans, to avoid confusion*), is the Fallen. As in the one from Revenge of the Fallen. • The 13th Prime, the “Arisen,” who was the youngest and the mediator, reincarnated into Orion Pax/Optimus Prime.

Important to note that the Aerialbots were from the present day of the show , newly created and doubting the ideals of the autobots and if fighting was really right thing to do, somewhere they got sent to the past, met Orian Pax and Megatron there and only after witnessing those events they decided that the Autobots were doing the right thing and were loyal to the cause from there

From TFP, Megatron and Orion’s relationship Is that Megatron Is a gladiator that acts as a mentor to Orion a clerk/worker, Megatron becomes Megatron from envy From TF:One, The story says that both D-16 and Orion are colleagues, Miners In this story D-16 becomes Megatron from hating Sentinel and Orion becomes a Prime by dying and being revived In the original comics it somehow follows TFP slightly

I lnow that when it first came out the history between sides were never fleshed out and explained. As time went on the development of past relationships and paradigms attempted to make sense of all of the chaos, but the only thing that was consistent in all variations of the story was their brotherhood. Though even that has 'changed' depending on who or how its told.

The transformers exodus novel goes into more detail on their origins, as its revealed that Alpha Trion was one of the 13 Original primes and he can glimpse into the future and the past. He petitioned for Orion and Megatron to meet with the high council and at the high council meeting, Megatron and Orion both give their excellent speeches to sway all who listened. Megatron killed the head of the council and declared war upon them once they had deemed Orion the next prime. After that it jumps to several battles of the war for cybertron and we get different perspectives from different characters on both sides. It's actually an excellent read. 😌👍
