This exactly why I prefer DC. Because they actually make you think about how these heroes and villains have repercussions in the real world. The film was a complete package and an epic journey from start to finish. I love the graphic novels used, the properly executed punchlines, and the background of the characters introduced. This movie did a great job showing the sheer power and destructive capabilities of Demi-gods/Superheroes/Heroes/Kryptonians under on Earth. Bro I am insanely in love with this cinematography and combat sequence. Notice how the female characters didn't bash the man's masculinity or invoke any "girl power" nonsense? And still, they came off as a powerful female character in the movie. (WW, Faora, Luis Lane, Mera, HQ and Martha). That's good writing by Goyer, the Nolan brothers, and Zack Snyder. Also brilliant acting by everyone.

I do prefer Darkseid to his marvel equivalent, Thanos. Comics Thanos does it for “love.” MCU Thanos thinks he’s doing the right thing for the universe. But Darkseid is evil in the purest form. He brings death and conquers purely because he can. He has no goal beyond domination. Everything he does is for his own glory and that is infinitely more terrifying. I love pure evil, basic as it may be. The Lich from Adventure Time is the same. One purpose, to end all life. From a storytelling perspective, maybe it’s evil for evils sake but it’s what makes them so threatening. They exist for one purpose and they won’t quit until they succeed. They are evil gods that won’t quit.

I'm more of an MCU fan but I know to recognize a good work when I see one. Snyder's cut imo is definitely better than the original, and it's just a shame that it isn't this one that was originally released. We could have had a good competition between DC and Marvel movies, where each one strives to be better than the other in both scope, story and spectacle, instead of one Studio being complacent and releasing mediocre ones after the other because they barely have competition. Solid 8/10 for me still, this is definitely among the best superhero movies out there. PS Did the Martian Manhunter bit at the end seem kinda... tack on? "I am also called Martian Manhunter" Well to his credit Batman did ask.
