These is genius. I wish Serato sample would implement this kind of global pitch shifter for all plugin instances. I like its pitch algoritm the best so I sometimes have 10 open and have to open each individually to change key.

This device is absolutely gamechanging for Ableton, thank you so much for making it! Would you consider adding a "commit" button to permanently set the set's tempo/pitch to the current varispeed setting and reset the dial back to "0"? I currently use this device while I'm beat-making and move the dial to consider different vibes and often I find one I like more but then have to reset the dial to 0 and manually reconfigure to the new bpm pitch I liked more. As a workaround I can also delete the plugin and put a new one on, but the button would really streamline things!

Hey, I'm glad you like it! : ) I think adding a button like that would cause more harm than good. (People would accidentally press it, and I would get a lot of emails :D.) So I think the deleting/inserting a new instance method is more ideal. (It doesn't take that much longer than a single button press, and it's not something you would do countless times with a Live set. Maybe once or twice I guess.) But I will think about it!

@@homelandelisabeth7090 I feel like I just bought NOT WORRYING about what key I start a song in 😃 I've spent so much time manually transposing a whole song a (semi)tone up or down clip by clip just to see if that fits the song better, often only to find out it didn't work after all, so all that time was wasted. This device makes me feel completely free to try a different key on a whim 👍👍👍 Also the exclude-words and the fact that it actually works with Auto-tune, Melodyne etc are all so thoughtful, I love it!

This is so awesome! Do audio clips need to be warped if the tempo button is disactivated in order to keep timing? I'd imagine that if they are not warped you'd get shifting as they are transposed

Looks great, but I have been looking for a simple way to change the tempo/speed of a single pad sample in a drum rack. Warp function is too much trail and error. Is this possible with Varispeed or is the change only global?

you can transpose individual drum rack cells with it, but it'll also automatically transpose all your MIDI and AUDIO clips on the timeline.

It's a MaxForLive device, so no it wont. : / You need either Live standard with MaxForLive, or Live suite.

Yes! +/- 24 semitones. Smaller steps are not possible right now. (I could implement it with audio clips, but it would be a hit or miss with MIDI, and could cause some issues.)

@@homelandelisabeth7090 on a relatively unrelated semitone of a note... since you do all the fancy ableton deepspace programming that i have not the brain capacity for, i've been trying to figure out wth is happening and why i used to be able to export seamless albums, [long one hr wav file exported from ableton project containing all the album songs and transitions] cut into tracks, and have them play off any media player or streaming; bandcamp, spotify, itunes desktop player, etc, seamlessly. in fact i trusted ableton to be able to do this since it had always done it perfectly and i'm not even sure at which release or point it stopped working. idk if this is anything in your realm of shenanigans, but any insight would be so appreciated. could it be the OS vs the macbook i'm using? A1398 macbook pro running big sur and ableton live 11. i used to slice the tracks exactly where they should change on the album, and export those blocks of audio and upload to any of the aforementioned or listen in itunes or apple music player desktop app and there would be absolutely no space. now there is an obnoxious and abrasive silence that is more like a pop due to its abrupt attack / decay if you will. all i've found online is more people wondering the same thing, forums without answers and google telling me to buy a very expensive mastering software. thank you for your time and your work. as a tape fanatic i'm excited to mess w/varispeed regardless🎛️🕺🏻👾

only usefull if you prepare the complete project from the start, like set every midi clip to the right key, every sample warped, the right track names etc. honestly a bit too much work if you ask me..
