Ya know... I have two mindsets when I watch these vids. First is how I play now, and I think "Wow.... do people really need to be told these basic tips?..." The second is when I remember way back to Y1S1 when I would happily reinforce the walls of Kid's bed on House, thinking "I'm helping my team!!!" I honestly tend to forget that not everyone I play with has over a thousand hours in the game like I do, has all the ops, knows all the callouts, is familiar with the currrent meta.... I do this all the time. I'm a casual plat and don't use the meta's unless I'm with friends to mess this the op team. I have 7 smurfs and have around a total of around 400 hours played. Im now restarting the game with a friend and he's new and it's like teaching a kid how to walk, it's easy once you get it but hard to learn.

@@nathanb4424 Kids only has the one hallway door. If you reinforce all the walls, it makes a choke point, and it's a lot easier for the enemy to keep you out than it is to retake it. Plus it would cut down the angles you would be able to hold.

But if you have rotation holes you make even more way to enter the site and it creates more lines of sight for the defenders to play retake and actually have a chance.

Another way to use them i found is to use them as early warning systems. Not for the dmg they deal but if some1 wanna get through 1 even if they se it they have to shot it and unless they run a silanced weapon u gonna hear them destroy it.

Quick tip about rule #4.1: before putting your first reinforcement, put a hole on the wall next to it, most people will assume you made that hole to get a new line of sight and won't reinforce over that. Remember that most of those who reinforce next to you are doing so because they think they are helping and they don't realize how annoying it is, a small hole will do the trick. Worked for me so far without fail.

if you can turn two bomb sites into one big room with cover, it becomes much easier to defend, as you can walk and shoot between them. if you have leftover reinforcements, a good thing to do is to reinforce walls that you can see from site, or where your team is holding from so that attackers cant use them to get angles on your team.

About Q. 3 Why wouldn't smoke go upstairs to get hatches he literally has nothing to put down?

According by the rule. Echo and rook are 1 speed operators and anchors by default. Hence they should get hatches. Smoke normally takes barbed wire if they have their shotgun as a primary. Fulfilling the rotation hole making duty and slowing down the attackers. Also, some people uses smoke to roam instead of anchoring. Not the biggest fan of that idea but there is some who does that.

Great video! Here are three more 'rules' (more like justifications/recommendations) regarding this topic: 1) ANCHORS vs. ROAMERS. It's also more advantageous for anchors (as opposed to roamers) getting hatches, because - as I'm sure you've said in one of your other videos - players can get tracked by Jackal. If Jackal sees a reinforced hatch, it doesn't take a lot of skill to assume someone has been there and he can run a scan. If he tracks an achor, the achor will just be sitting on site - no surprise there. If a roamer gets tracked, it sucks for them. 2) TIMING OF REINFORCEMENTS. From personal experience, it's very risky to reinforce in any room with outside-facing doors or windows after the prep timer is up. Attackers may lodge a couple of shots at the doors/windows for an easy kill, and this way they can get lucky. This is also another reason why outside-facing walls should be reinforced first. I would say, unless the reinforcement is of very high value and the attackers spawn far away, it's better to leave it, because in my view, being one operator down is worse than not having a particular wall/hatch reinforced (i.e., for the overall benefit of the team and odds of securing that W). 3) RE: HATCHES. This should be fairly obvious, but when you (Varsity) were talking about hatches, he meant hatches from the floor above into objective (with the exception that objectives underneath the roof [typically 3rd floor] usually either don't have hatches or you can't reach them to reinforce). Hatches on the objective leading to the floor below should mostly _not_ be reinforced, as they can be used as a rotation hole, if necessary (though it doesn't necessarily mean they should be destroyed from the get go either).

The question about where reinforcements go on the console and meeting room is a little different (not sure if that’s how diamond lobbies are on pc versus what the diamond lobbies on Xbox look like) but you can get an angle into B from the connector window as an attacker on that south wall, making both of those walls needed as a “cover wall” so that your echo or doc sitting in the cubby can be fine from that angle.

I would recommend Kaid get outside walls or neither in an organized team or in higher ranks depending on team comp. Because you want to put the electroclaw below the hatch, it's more time efficient for Kaid to put down reinforcements on site and thrown his electroclaw on the hatch when someone else gets it. If you don't have a Mute or Bandit, go for outside facing walls because you'll want to put an electroclaw there. If you do have a Mute or Bandit then I think you should put your reinforcements anywhere else and let them do it.

Castle is an operator most people cannot manage his utility properly. His Castle barricades need to be put down first. Double windows and double doors near site have priority unless a doorway is needed for roamer. Also Castle can shut off or severely delay a direction to push from into site. Castle is more of a lurker able to flex between supporting anchors and roamers. Laundry Room push from Construction Entrance can be massively slowed from Castle barricades on the doorways and reinforcing the electric room walls or the wall across from the doorway and hatch.

He takes outside walls, he only has to electrify the hatches and its much quicker if somebody else reinforces it and he just throws his gadget on it. Also it has to be done from below so he has to reinforce it and then run all the way back to site to electrify it. Also with his current settup he's great for spawnpeeking so he needs to be ready asap in order to go to his spot and do the peeks.

If you have thermite, the Oregon hatch with electro claw on hatch and the adjacent wall is useless because you can put the charge on the soft wall in the middle of classroom, it will destroy both. :)

Maybe it's just the way I use Maestro on Oregon basement but I actually think putting one barricade on hatch and blowing open the soft wall beside it works better. Granted I also put a Maestro cam upstairs above with the floor blown open to take out any hard breathing gadgets and if the soft wall is left up thermite can easily still blow a hole into the basement. I do understand why most people would want that wall reinforced though. Still a great video full of great information.

There really are only one or two examples off the top of my head that you WOULD reinforce next to someone. One being Coastline in the kitchen with the long soft wall. Second would be on Fortress in the dorms.

I would argue that Smoke gets hatches on Bank. He’s slightly faster, so he wastes slightly less time sprinting around up top, and since he only has barbed wire to setup (and since he usually should play on site here), he can safely get hatches with little else to setup. Mira has enough time to reinforce, place her mirrors, and shotgun the rotation hole and holes for throwing C4 and Smoke through next to the CCTV Mira. Edit: Echo has his reinforcements, his barbed, and to move his Yōkai into place (for me, usually under a desk and thrown atop truck in garage), which is slightly more setup than barbed wire and reinforcements. I find that shotgun setup, especially on this site, usually doesn’t take much time and Mira or Smoke (whoever is playing the CCTV Mira at the time) has enough time to shoot out the necessary holes in the free 5 secs it would take an attacker to rush into CCTV from the closest spawn (Sewer).

for your example on border for not reinforcing next to someone if someone does that to me and i have 1 left i usually run out the front of armory obj straight past the main staircase and put my one reinforcement on the wall under the hallway cam that faces armory obj door....you only need 1 reinforcement and it stops the attackers (except maverick) from making a murder hole and basically stopping all rotations between objective sites

I didn't mention it in the video but generally smoke is responsible for making rotation holes since he has a shotgun. And he also has barbed wire to put down. They could be interchanged but I'd rather smoke get the rotation holes down earlier than later

The only problem I see with rule 2 is when you go off sight to reinforce a wall like alleyway access you run the risk of getting tracked by Jackal if the attackers have him on there team, but this only applies to casual or the 2% of the times Jackal isn’t banned in ranked.

For thermite, he can just place down his charge on the wall itself and get the hatch with it. One more rule for everyone. Never reinforce next to Mira unless specifically asked to do so. There's very few things a Mira hates more than someone ruining their setup, and it's also a good way to catch a bullet in the head.

Only a bad Mira will TK. Especially when they TK someone reinforcing a usual reinforcement wall, not even directly next to the Mira. Had that happen in a match just last night, the Mira Tked a teammate (Mute) in the first round, no communication what so ever, then TKd me (Rook) in the second defense round (I was reinforcing a 4 wall length starting on the third section, Mira was putting up a reinforcement on the first section), again no communication, no "Not there! I have a strat." Just headshot and then he left. Never said a word (VC or TC) just TKd twice and left.

Tmw when you start furiously knifing, shooting around and yelling at someone in chat not to reinforce the wall they are reinforcing and then they look at you like you are in the wrong after asking them not to reinforce the wall that they continued to reinforce

My friend whose name will go unsaid (and will be referred to as friend) likes to run to teammates if in “danger” (Being shot at). Friend expects them to help out instantly without even asking for help. All this does is bring trouble to friends teammates who didn’t need it. Friend also had trouble with calling out (mostly when roaming) costing a team member a life. Please make a video on why it’s important to call out and not to gather up and bring danger to teammates who weren’t expecting it.

For your 3rd question, shouldn't smoke get the hatches because all he has to do is put down his barbed wire/impact rotation holes, where as echo has to put down his drones in addition to barbed wire
