Want to rent out your machine? We recommend any rented machines meet the following requirements to rent for the best price:
Ubuntu 18.04 or newer (required)
Dedicated machines only - the machine shouldn't be doing other stuff while rented
Fast, reliable internet: at least 10Mbps per machine.
10-series Nvidia GPU (AMD not yet supported, older Nvidia not recommended).
At least 1 physical CPU core (2 hyperthreads) per GPU.
Your CPU must support AVX instruction set (not all lower end CPUs support this).
At least 4GBM of system RAM per GPU.
Fast SSD storage with at least 128GB per GPU.
at least 1X PCIE for every 2.5 TFLOPS of GPU performance.
All GPUs on the machine must be of the same type.
An open port range mapped to each machine.
The ideal machine will exceed these minimum guidelines, as some workloads require even more CPU, RAM, disk, and PCIE performance. Also keep in mind that everything scales with GPU power, so a 3090 will need more ram, a better cpu, etc, than a 3060

Full transperancy , i just started so still figuring this out but, Since someone rented the computer,not the day I turned it on but the day someone started to actually rent it, it has been 4 days fully rented. So that's $21.95 earned in 4 days before fees. Prior to it being rented though, it ran for a little over 3 days while I was working out the problems, so about half the electrical shown on the kilowatt meter was before it was even rented and earning. The machine only earns while it's getting rented. If no one rents it, then it just stays on using a little electricity. Now that it's stable, though, the profit gap is getting bigger, so it caught up with the previously used electrical and has now started to profit. So if we take out the electrical used 🤔 before it was rented, it would look more like this. In 4 days, it earned $21.95, subtract the vast.ai fee, and left with $16.47 , it used $4.54 of electricity. So profit for the 4 days is $11.93. I have my prices low for my testing, so if you were to price yours higher it would have more profit. So let's say this is a machine I already have at home doing nothing. at this rate every 30 days I would be earning $89.47 after electrical . Hopefully, that makes sense. I plan to raise my price a little after this contract is over so that way it earns a bit more when it gets rented. Still in the testing process, but I think it's a neat way to earn extra money if you already have the hardware.

"Profitable" you spend at least 600 on everything and made 7 lol not a great return. They would have to give you 500 a eeek to make sence

calculate it up to a year with his numbers and keep in mind he tested it with lower prices and it runs up to around 1k per year, tidy profit, you can borrow money and increase profits exponentially, considering the demand for AI is only going up
