This guy is a monster. DT made a great choice getting him.
@morenoharjoyudanto88896 жыл бұрын
Tamed monster. Looks like Mangini is steered by jp and jr. Yea he is beast but he would do anything to get this job, so he's taking an easy aproach so he would not getting kicked by the band (as mp would return, he tried previously after dt had gotten a drummer but got rejected anyway)
@ronstewart63623 жыл бұрын
I personally didn't think u could replace Mike. I wasn't wrong, he's unreplaceable but you have covered him admirably and your new stuff with DT is Freaking unbelievable!! You are fantastic!! I'm now a big fan. Great job!!
@DeadlyMilk12 жыл бұрын
I love the way he totally feels the groove, even when he's playing relatively simple stuff. That's how you can tell the difference between an amateur and a professional. Amateurs respect only the flashy stuff, while professionals respect everything. tl;dr Mike Mangini rox

I love the fact that he doesn't only use high end cymbals, lke the K's and the Avedis' lines, but also ZBT's, ZXT's and ZHT's. They all sound great, and very unique in their own way. Plus he makes me appreciate my ZXT's as valuable cymbals!

Mike you are the best! And you also come through as very human and humble in the Auditioning videos with DT, not too common among other "cool super drummers...." Make sure Dream Theater makes at least one Tour stop in Stockholm!!
@TXMusicDrummer13 жыл бұрын
Mike Mangini is very cool. What a tripped-out kit! Sorta reminds me of the Moonie kit from the 70's with the high and mid-toms in front and the floors on both the left and right side. Moon only had one hi-hat, and he didn't play it much.

These things really are the most helpful and coolest things ever!! I have the same problem he did (meaning as I hit the cymbals, the wingnuts would tighten and loosen, to where it would be dangerous for the cymbal becoming too tight or having them become wayyy too lose and I don't like that)

@WVsonofliberty11 жыл бұрын
I remember years ago, Zildjian had a similar budget priced cymbal line called Scimitar. The ZBT's may be just an updated version of these. The ride was fair, crashes useless, but I really liked the Hi Hats. They played and sounded good in a positions, and cut through in the mix. It's all about sound you are wanting. I even used a circular saw blade for a while because it had a great chime sound, lol.

Definitely not unnecessary at all. Everything he has is in a perfect spot and that kit blows any kit out of the water =]
@acidrums413 жыл бұрын
@passion4drums I think he puts them here just for visual appearance. And those cymbals too. One need extra energy to move the arms up to play them, it's more tiring than if you put them near the "horizont" of the kit (or your arms). Maybe he wants to look like Terry Bozzio?
@AfterlifeBlack12 жыл бұрын
He talked about it at a drum clinic I saw him at, and he said it's simply the sound he ways. As you probably know, his whole set is about one; Dark vs. Light cymbals, his toms are set up like tenors, etc. So, the ZBT's were just the right hi hats to contrasts the ones he has on the right of his kit.

@parkoanime12 жыл бұрын
guys i know his kit seems unnecessary. But if you watch any drumming video of his, this one included, he utilizes a really good portion of his kit very consistently, its not as if huge sections of his kit are jsut left completely untouched. thats something alot of big kit drummers cant say for themselves.

I had the same problem with my wing nuts loosening (wow, that sounded wrong). So I switched to those Vaters and wonder why companies even bother to make the default wing nut. And those skulls used on the hi-hats are useful, I prefer a drop clutch.

@MrMarcuuuss I'll be honest with you, I play left hand lead. My Crash/Ride on my left side which sits above my hi hats back aways feels better. My arms fully extended so i can use all my different muscles in better ways. It takes a bit of getting used to but it feels better after a while.

He could play on pie pans and make it sound good.ZBT's are great hi hats for that crunchy rock sound,plus they cut really well through the guitar/bass sound live.I had to play them on a loaner kit at a one-off festival and they were cool!

@MuffinSpecial It doesnt really matter which symbal type you use, its your own opinion. If you think sabian apx sounds great, use it. If ZBT sounds great for you and fits for you, use it. The price comes from material used and with what technique they are made. Also, he doesnt need any fancy K hats to be good. He just is. And by the way, its spelled noobiest.
@deucesolo6 жыл бұрын
I love the Vater Extreme sticks
@turtlekidlol12 жыл бұрын
hell yeah man. i have a-custom hats, but for my mains i use ZBT. why? they sound great! they are a thick sounding, yet light set of hats and other cymbals. i love ZBT when i need something higher pitched, but yet thick and big for a sound. A-customs and ks for the opposite, but still a high pitched one. if that makes any sense
