Sanguinius was colder then Horus, more aloof, and possible disliked the limelight more then his brother, possibly reasons for his passing over for his more outwardly charismatic brother. As I said, we do not know.

+Iscafplays I read some stuff about how Horus was a genious when it came to strategy. Not just how he planned, but the principle from where he looked upon battles was much liked by the Emperor. (not just kill-kill-kill like the orks) That combined with his victories, experience, being liked by (most of) his brothers and by his father made him a good choice.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the great videos. There are 2 little errors in this video about Sanguinius that I noticed. Firstly the gems on his armour represent Baal and it's moon, and Terra and her moon. The last error is that it is actually Ka'Banda that see's Horus' fear that if Sanguinius should fall to Chaos, he might eclipse Horus' own status as chosen champion of the Pantheon. Kyriss didn't know that Horus and Ka'Banda deviated from Erebus' sceme to corrupt The Angel and instead planned to kill him. Minor errors, I just wanted to point them out. Thanks again for all hard work you do putting these videos together, they are amazing!!!

I have a couple amendments to the video. -the legion didn't put down their serfs at Signus. In fact, until the red thirst finally overtook them all, there was a contingent of legionaries who stayed behind to defend them from the daemons. -the reason ka'bandah was able to defeat Sanguinius was because he told the primarch about Horus' treachery. Sanguinius had the demon on the ground and was about to deliver the final blow, and the shock of confirmation that Horus was behind the Signus atrocity stayed his hand for a devin which the demon used to crush his legs with his spooky whip.

Great video! You mentioned the difference in the Angel's hair color and attributed it to idealization. It may be that you are right, but in a different way. In "The Unremembered Empire" it is mentioned by Lady Yuten, Fareth Redloss, and Dolorthat there is an etherial, numenous, spiritual or other worldly quality to Sanguinius that is like his father that often causes people to see in him what they want to see and that his form and detail remain inconstant. This is in the middle of chapter 24. I think that it is likely an intemtional interpretation of those that see the Angel as the inheritor of his father that they see him with his father's black hair or as an idealized blonde.

I'm pretty sure that he gained a mutation from the touch of chaos but the irradiated planet upgraded the mutation 100 fold All the other primarchs didn't show much of mutation probably cause they were mutated by the touch of chaos but it was such a small mutation that it wasn't even noticed

Sanguinius' backstory seems to bear a lot of similarities to Paul Mua'dib of Dune. Almost killed when first discovered by the people of a desert world, grew to manhood on a desert planet where the tribes wear special suits to protect them, endowed with the power of prescience, a brilliant leader who later came to be worshiped as a godlike being by those tribes. It wound make sense given some of the other Dune references throughout 40k.

In the HH books Sang is described as having blonde hair and black hair. Sometimes the descriptions varry in the same book by the same author. I wonder if the difference in appearance depends on if the description is coming from another Primarch/SM or a "mortal". It isn't uncommon for psychics in 40k to look different depending on who is looking at them. If I wasn't so lazy I would track down the discrepancy and check.

I think the blond hair fits The Angel better. It makes sense considering that most of the Blood Angel special characters are blond as well. The exception to that is, strangely enough, Commander Dante, who supposedly has black hair.

Sort of, by the year m.41.999. The traitors become demon princes because they literally become demons, and it is possible for non-Primarchs and even non-humans to be demon princes. The "God" Emperor was not considered a god during the great crusade, that only happened later after he was interred on the golden throne, and in reality he is just an unimaginably strong Psyker, not a god. So the Primarchs could be Demi-gods or angelic beings from the perspective of current year 40k people (although they've never heard of the demon princes, that info is suppressed), but in the 30k years they would have just been seen as immensely powerful super humans (think superman).

Not really It's Implied that the Blood Ravens are actually a Loyalist Thousand Sons chapter, they share all the same traits the Legion possessed: Interest in acquiring knowledge, unnaturally high psyker rate and there a lot of effort in not uncovering the origins of the chapter(if it became known they wee based on a former Traitor legion good chance they'd be exterminated on the spot)
