Mine blows at all speeds, however A/C kicks in only if position 4 is selected. Does fault come from same resistor ? Cheers😊

Thank you very much

Does the resistor also apply for demist?

I have a problem. My fan is only working in speed 4, what you'd recommend?
@junkendriven Жыл бұрын
Definitely change the resistor as that's a common reason for only speed4 working
@peterleach8343 Жыл бұрын
Looks like you may have a bigger problem if the resistor and connector keep failing the fan motor is drawing to much current and probably needs replacing good video if it’s just a simple resistor replacement
@junkendriven Жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, yep I'd suspected as much too that the fan is probably on it's way out drawing too much current and causing the resistor packs to keep melting!
@meirionevans9088 Жыл бұрын
is it the same when it works 1 and and not 3 and 4
@junkendriven Жыл бұрын
Yes, if it works in only some positions it's usually the resistor so needs replacing

God someone has done that usual wiring repair before but i hoped you checked it was done properly as the insulation looks pretty iffy....lol sorry i commented just before you actually said that
@junkendriven Жыл бұрын
Haha, yeah was a bit dodgy, but I've got to admit, I didn't check/repair it properly! As you saw just chuck the new one in and hope for the best :)

My fan blows on all 4 speeds but it never gets hot. What could be the problem?
@junkendriven11 ай бұрын
That's be down to your heater matrix which flows the coolant round and the blower then blows over it for the warm air. Check your coolant first as if it's very low or not flowing correctly that'd cause issues.

I checked with a garage, the guy said it was the resistor, but after watching your video, I had some doubts. So I checked with another guy yesterday, and he suggested flushing the system and changing coolant as he observed some pipes were hot as they should while some was cold. I just hope it works after that because the heater matrix would definitely cost a fortune. Thanks alot

Makes more sense it being related to coolant, remember the Corsa thermostat opens at 100oC so quite high before water will flow round all the coolant hoses and radiator. The two pipes in and out of the matrix can clearly be seen, in engine bay look to the right of the engine and towards the firewall, you'll see the heater matrix pipes to check if they get warm or not.

Exactly, those were the 2 pipes that weren't hot. What are the chances the heater matrix is still good and flushing the pipes would make the heater work?

Canny video. I normally pull the motor while on and clean the contacts. Another common fault on the D
@junkendriven Жыл бұрын
Great point Barry, I suspect the motor probably does need a bit of silicone grease sprayed in as this is the second resistor it's burnt out so it suggests the motor is pulling too much current. Thanks for the good tip
