Vauxhall Corsa E Review

Welcome evrryone to my review of the Vauxhall Corsa-E.
With Vauxhall now being a part of PSA (Stellantis) Group, it was going to happen where platforms, engines and tech gets shared. So although it where's a Vauxhall badge, underneath the new Corsa lies the Peugeot 208.

Great review Dave, the Corsa might be plainer than the 208 but is less fussy so has grown on me from launch. Price and deals are better generally and the Corsa was the no1 seller last year and again for the first quarter of this year.

Spot on review Dave, very informative and touched upon some good details. I'm not keen on this new corsa shape, its looking more and more like the older astra. I agree though the new 208 looks lots more striking. Peugeot are on a great streak with styling at the moment.

A great review, Dave. I think the Corsa suffers from a problem with timing. PSA bought the company in the middle of the cars refresh and threw away the original plans. The car was actually developed in a very short space of time using their existing PSA platform and technology. I think this means that it didn’t have all the development time that it needed to be as good as it could’ve been. Let’s hope that the next generation has a better gestation period than this one.

Stellantis is not another name for PSA. Stellantis is the new (January 2021) group resulting from the merger of PSA and FCA. Stellantis brands include Abarth, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Lancia, Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, Vauxhall, and DS

Some of the lease deals are pretty tempting - 12k and a bit over 4 years for 8000 miles. Almost as much as my 17yo 330ci will do in petrol.

Hi Dave, great review! You say 140 miles in December cold but could you have maximised that by using Eco mode? I test drove the new MG ZS long range Trophy Connect which I enjoyed. But the problem is I can get the Corsa E Elite Premium for about £90 a month less on comparison with £2000 deposit. I only need about 130 mile range on my work days.

kWh is a unit of energy, not short for kilowatt per hour :) . So it's to be read" kilowatt hour". But aparat from this nice review!

Rear charging point is annoying. I much prefer a charge point at the front.

The 208 has higher air resistance and a little more weight, the electric car has a 15 km shorter range than the Corsa. The overly large instrument panel in the 208 gives less space in the front seat and according to EuroNcap it causes leg injuries in an accident that you don't get in the Corsa, and the instruments and the steering wheel can't be used by everyone but only by some, add to that worse headlights and the 208 has some pretty serious drawbacks. Also, the design is bad. The Peugeot 208 has bad... proportions, the rear door has bad harmony and disturbs the whole car, as well as it looks cheap and simple seen from behind, the C-pillars are a disaster... the “tank lid” is poorly... executed, 208 is a bad design in general - these faults have been rectified by the Corsa in a superior way.
