Hi Does petrol Mokka has fuel filter and where is it located

I believe they have what’s called a life time filter and it’s in the tank. I’m not 100% sure tho

What size socket is the oil fitler cap for a 2014 1.7 Diesel Mokka? TIA

Jawdan Im not 100% sure mate. I have a case with about 20 different sizes in so just keep trying till one fits. Sorry I can’t help mate

@@EllsAutoCare Did it today, was a 36mm socket for the Oil cap and T45 for the sump plug for anyone with this model looking in the future.

@@JawdanMD Hi, working on the same model, cheers for socket sizes. Also where is the oil filter located? its not the same engine as this video. Thanks
@JawdanMD4 жыл бұрын
@@paulhedge9627 The oil filter is about half way through the length of the car on the passenger side (UK) and it's located underneath the car; I did it without a jack but it'd be 100x easier with a jack. The sump plug is located near the drivers side (UK) wheel and obviously also under the car. Good luck!

You could call in to Vauxhall and grab so genuine stuff? Or pick up some Castrol oil. It’s normally a dextron 2 so not to cheap

Also is it easier to get the filter from the top or bottom as noticed you didnt jack it up , did you have access to a jack at all ?
@EllsAutoCare3 жыл бұрын
It is easier. I wouldnt say anything is impossible, but doing it from underneath would be close to it. The filter housing has a hex on it thats pointing up so would be very difficult to get from underneath

On this I used a 30mm BUT there’s variations so yours might be a 27mm, 30mm or a 32mm. It’s most likely to be a 30mm tho

How come you didnt drop the oil from the sump plug ? 99 percent of people would and not touch the dipstick until it came to checking the mark of the new oil put it.

Because I extracted it throw the dip stick tube. Just because 99% of people do it one way doesn't mean there isn't another way to do it

You might actually say how much oil is required for a refill including the filter, that would help enormously. Also my 2014 Mokka has a Torx T 40 sump plug and a24 mm oil filter housing not 30 mm

@@EllsAutoCare well, the oil does not need to be syphoned if you're changing the filter too, as the sump plug to empty the oil is right in the center of the filter housing cap, in other words to get the filter off, you have to drain the oil first , it would've been helpful and wasted less time to know this before I started. As like a dummy, I syphoned the oil out, then found that sump plug when I went under the car to remove the filter. To day I was furious when I found that after spending the best part of an hour syphoning out that oil, would be understatement of the year ! P.S. you're welcome .

You didn't get any of the oil out. Yet filmed the car with the engine running to correctly get it hot, then went straight to the filter. Did you miss out part of the video?

Phillip Jones if you go to 1:24 you’ll see the dip stick on the front and a tub going in to the dipstick. I do mention that I have sucked the oil out. Watch it all the way throw and you’ll see

@@EllsAutoCare Oh come on, how many people would suck the oil out via the dip stick TUBE? How would they? Anyway how did you suck it out via the dipstick tube? If you had mentioned you had removed the old oil you would have explained that? Did you use a wet and dry vacuum cleaner?

@@phillipjones3439 from your comments ots clear you haven't watched or listened to to the full video. So what is the objective of your comments ?
@samrodian9195 жыл бұрын
Ells Auto Care I am carefully looking at the still video at 1.24 and nowhere can I see a "Tub" in view, neither can you see a line going down to the dipstick hole. You can see the line coming over the slam panel but where it is going to you cannot see. And I have listened to the video and cannot anywhere hear you say you have sucked out the oil you do say you could not get it all out, well you'd get more out removing the sump plug and letting it drain. Also on a practical note starting the engine before removing the oil only distributes the oil back round the system so it's best not to heat the engine because it has already drained back into the sump. It's best just toopen the sump plug and drain the oil then get on with the rest of the service while you are waiting for it to finish draining.
