Glad to see the little human in charge. Shout out to Taylor for sharing him with us. Hopefully he will grow up big and tall and be lumberjack like dad and grandpa.

In the background there is a box from auto custom carpets. I bought my Dodge ram carpet from them too. Good video and good job keeping Callahan clean. I see Meccano sets in Callahan's future.

ratchet strap was a baller tip, you make me want to buy a old cummins so bad. but I live here in the rust belt of Ohio so those trucks are absolutely destroyed from salt. can't wait to see that charger done!
@heavyhauler793 жыл бұрын
Johnny, I live in the salt region too, and I see the same here in WI. I have worked hard to keep mine looking good, but the salt can pulverize the body fast, and it's not just Dodges, I see Fords and Chevys the same too.
@joshlower12 жыл бұрын
Just make sure you clean it anytime it gets mud or salt on it and a nice thick coat of paint on the frame and other exposed metal parts never hurts.

I'm definitely gonna use that ratchet strap on the exhaust trick. Genius! Thats always a frigging fight

The syncro on the nv4500 are a carbon fiber. Allot of people.dont know that it requires a special oil. If the correct oil isn't used the syncro will wear out quickly

Hi Sam!!!!!!!! Be carefull about buying "rebuilt" transmissions. I have personally seen transmissions with lots of miles that were gone through without some gears being replaced. Eventually those would fail just from long term stress. Even gears that were rarely used and looked new would break teeth off eventually. Best to replace a trans with a completely unused brand new one when possible.
@SmudgyContent3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have grinding in mine, but say if you start off in 2nd gear, it jerks, unless yah do a clutch dump roasting the tires off the back… but if you take off in 1st, 2nd gear won’t jerk… shifts fine. Well unless you wanna pass someone and gotta drop to 3rd then yah gotta redline err for a good minute to grab 3rd again. Then sometimes if yah don’t do it quick enough and let the clutch out and try going, it almost seems like I cooked the crap outta the clutch.

If you engage two gears at once, it will lock the transmission shafts together. Doing this will allow you to torque everything on the bench. Of course, you can only do this before you put the shift tower back on.
@VBELTandSON3 жыл бұрын
Idk how I would hold it down and try to torque that much tho without it in the truck
@gizzmo28753 жыл бұрын
I've ratchet strapped them to the bench. I understand though, 300 ft-lbs is up there. The last thing you want is 300+lb hunk of metal falling on your foot.

I liked the truck Sam, but the black lower kind of takes away the full characteristic of the truck (my thoughts). liked watching the tear down and replacement of the necessary parts to fix the transmission, as I would like a mansmission in a Dodge with a cummins
