I've had my M18 fuel hackzall for about 2 years now and I absolutely love it. I just got my M12 fuel hackzall a couple months ago. I've only used the M12 once so far but as work starts picking back up in Spring I'm sure it will give me the opportunity to use the m12 more. I do wish the M12 had an articulating shoe like the M18. I guess I'll figure out which one I like more as I have the opportunity to use m12 a few more times. Another thing that I have noticed about the M12 is that it does not have a drain hole on it like the M18 does. This drain hole could come in very handy when using it for cutting pipes that still have water. That being said anytime I'm reaching for one of the two to cut a pipe with water in it it's definitely going to be the M18. Most people don't even know about that feature of the M18 hackzall and therefore they do not realize that the M12 hackzall is missing that feature
@gusc67855 жыл бұрын
since u have both you think its possible to get a m18 shoe and put it on the m12 so it can be adjustable ? are they the same size
@jdreynolds294 жыл бұрын
@@gusc6785 sorry I just now saw your comment to me. I just looked at both of them. I did not take them apart to try it, but they do both look to be the same except for at the end of the shoe where the M18 pivots. So that being said, I would assume that your idea would work

Vince, I feel DeWalt should had made this exact size and stroke hackzall for their regular 20v tool line. The atomic model is a little under power and lack of speed. Maybe they will make a another model for the regular 20v line. The DeWalt atomic tool line does have a few hits and misses. I have the milwaukee m18 fuel hackzall and i do like a lot. I use a diablo blade and the new 8.0ah battery and it's awesome. Just remember everyone the hackzall is not going to do a whole heavy demo job. Just use the right tool for the job. Enjoy the new tool and can't wait to see the TTR.

I've had that one for a good while now and it's great. I use it for all my Sawzall cutting unless I'm doing demo. Then I get out the big M18 Fuel Sawzall.

Yep, ya kinda waited too long to pick up this gem of a little tool. I purchased the kit when it first came out, and thanks to a pricing snafu at the Depot I paid $199 (better deals have popped up, but typically you pay $249 and up). Awesome tool, way better than the brushed model. I have all the M12 and M18 Hacksaws, of course the Fuel iterations are far superior than the brushed models. Great tutorial as always Vinsanity!

Only complaint I have... after using the bosch version, I really don't like that the battery loads in from the back of the handle. It's a bit awkward loading into the back vs the front, but the worst part is that it's forward heavy and doesn't like to stand up... at least with the 5ah battery. If they had only made it so that the battery loaded in from the front, it would stand up fine. Thats something I've really come to appreciate with the bosch, especially when I'm on an a frame ladder.

@michaelc72835 жыл бұрын
I guess the 7/8" is the magic number for the stroke on the hackzall. The 1 inch hurt the Kobalt hackzall. The 5/8 inch stroke on DeWalt hackzall is not fast enough Milwaukee 7/8 inch stroke. Just right, LOL...
@MrHowieZ19735 жыл бұрын
@@michaelc7283 The DeWalt has an inch and an eighth stroke and it smoked this saw in TTR
@michaelc72835 жыл бұрын
@@MrHowieZ1973 I think you are comparing the wrong one. The DeWalt 1 - 1/8 is the compact reciprocating saw. The DeWalt 5/8" stroke is the atomic hackzall (handsaw) model i was talking about. You are correct the DeWalt compact reciprocating saw Won. I hope dewalt can come out with a new version with less vibration. That's also a good size reciprocating saw.

Yes I own that tool, and the M12, also the Dewalt....why? Because assistants forget to bring their tools 😑, or they’ve caught on that I roll with enough tools for three.🤔(eh whatever.) yes too long for you to finally pick that bad boy up, I think it was in Nov’2019 HomeDe had a buy two bare tools get a pair of M18 HO3.0Ah batts free, came to $308 after taxes (M18 Hack & M18 Surge, two HO 3’s) I felt good about it.... being that the HO3.0Ah are High Output, do they still get the power/performance bump? Or is that reserved for the 6 and up? Btw never get the six jump straight to the 8 same physical attributes... but I’m sure you know that already.
