Bro I have almost 50 Seiko divers and I never like those vintage ones, even skx was to primitive for me , and one day for fun I bought 7002 skx older brother and something click in my heart, now I have 6 skx, 4 6309 ad one pristine 6306. I think I will keep my mm300 and few mm200 and I will rebuild my collection to vintage Seiko's. I love those 6309 turtles, this is amazing that 45 year watches can look and work just like one year old watch and give you this special filling of time traveling. My mission is to have all vintage Seiko's in next 5 years, hope I will not bankrupt. i think every Seik collector should have those turtles in collections like you do!

That's a substantial collection you have there. Vintage Seiko diver's are a joy to collect. Good to know you have the courage to rebuild your modern collection and shift to a vintage one. I also have started with the new models and shifted to some old one's. I think they are more fun to collect. Good luck to your mission man. And since you have 50 watches, maybe buy one when you have sold one to avoid financial surprises. Let me know how your collecting goes.

@@KirbyYoung thanks for good words. Kind a hard to sell something you bought with passion after big research and hunting on and you still like it haha. Unfortunately money didn't grow on trees and we have care our mental and financial condition with drop of common sense. Peace!!!

That's an awesome watch. I used to have one before, it was the japan version, really wish I still had it to compare that to this. Thanks for watching!

I’have one in a very good condition. What’s his price please ?

@@pierre-jeandrouet7658 Buy or sell? 6309 or SRP 777? IMHO condition is a major factor. For price references I would recommend to check Chrono24

You're correct regarding the fading lume... but a watch kept in a drawer for 40 years would also lose it's glow, as the tritium decays. With the 12 year half-life of tritium, it doesn't matter if you wear it or stick it in a box. A super bright dial at 40years is aftermarket.
@KirbyYoungАй бұрын
@yaterspoon57 Thanks for sharing. It's either an aftermarket dial or a well re-lumed dial. Speaking of tritium, I thought they had to put a warning logo somewhere along the watch similar to a Marathon to indicate the radioactive state of the lume. 😅 Currently, they use lumibrite now which is non radioactive and safe seiko quotes.
@yaterspoon57Ай бұрын
@KirbyYoung Yes, you are right it could be a re-lume. There's no warning on my '78 6309, that's for sure.
@dustycups8 күн бұрын
@@KirbyYoung Fortunately these Seikos don't have tritium, and never did from the factory. Just a standard phosphorescent type lume.

you says that 7002 and 6309 have same bezels yes? in my opinion only in size and markers, but lum pip looks different, on my 7002 is bit smaller than on 6309 or 6306, microscopic difference but if you have all this watches together you can see that turtle has bigger lum circle. I have 2 original 7002 and 6 old turtles and I can see small difference. But maybe im wrong.
@KirbyYoung3 ай бұрын
Interesting. I haven't got a chance to compare it to an original but if so, then you are correct to say that it is a small difference. Either way, it is easier to find 7002 bezel insert than 6309.

Shame about that rubber strap, probably having been originally designed to be long enough to go over a diving wetsuit, but much too long for most bare wrists..... (cant be doing with that end sticking up in the air like that ! ) Also having to use the last hole on the strap, and not being able to centralise the buckle on the back of the wrist; ....in any case they look and wear much better on a NATO strap.
@romanj-loucordovilla42482 ай бұрын
Unfortunately the rubber strap is not the original design.
@KirbyYoung2 ай бұрын
Yes. I highly doubt we can still find rubber straps from the 70’s or 80’s which have not become sticky or brittle.

@KirbyYoung - I have an "original" band on my 6309. I have had it in my drawer for over 40 years. The band is pretty stiff though, but not decaying.
