VE Commodore Immobiliser no start fusible link cable starts fusebox alternator cable radiator cap

G'day guys this power cable has a 175 amp fusible link the battery also has to fusible links in the trunk boot of the car. The cable in question has been damaged by vermin we are not exactly sure about the history of the car. The car came in runny but needed jumping from the fuse box. It's very easy to check continuity on this cable. regarding the radiator cap they always fall apart and seize up so always have a spare radiator cap for your VE Commodore.

Your video is completely correct. I have been searching for hours. I had a dead flat battery. Hooked jumper leads to get something in there so the charger will detect the voltage and start charging. I am SURE I didn't put the wrong way as my VW didn't blow. Anyway everything dead, doors, boot switch, keys, just the padlock on the dash. Just did the jumper lead trick and was able to disarm the immobiliser and start the car. Confirmed the 175 is blown. Thank you for your video.

Thanks mate, you solved my problem. My ve would mostly cut out at highway speeds the engine check light could flicker and flash, gauges would go crazy. Surprised the computer didn't blow and couldn't find fault codes. Anyway when the car stopped again put a jumper lead from the positive battery post to the computer positive bolt and the car started right up, couldn't crank before. Fusible link intermittent fault.

I just bought an SV6 VE, just got it home and bang nothing lol, After lifting the bonnet "why is there a cable with a fuse going to the jumper point and the bolt on the fuse box?" pulled that sucker out, Now after seeing this, yup the fuse is blown lol. Thank you so much, would have cost me allot of money and time to find this issue. I hit like and subscribed the leased i could do thanks.

I accidentally hooked battery up backwards and it did cause this fusable link to blow an u pointed me to the issue .I couldn't find any help anywhere until I watched this video. Was a 07 ve ss. Thanx heaps🍻

Reverse polarity will blow the link, last night a member tried jump from his mums running i20 just before I got there to do a wheel change. Resulted in open circuit in the power cable to the fusebox! Bryan RACV

I have the VE Clubsport. It has a hot start issue. I have fixed most of the problem by running a second cable from the boot to that positive common terminal in the engine bay. What I am wanting to do is find out how to neatly run that cable under everything so its not a trip hazard to passengers. Is the original positive cable run through the door sills?

This is why we use multimeters to isolate these problems. Continuity test.

Ve Commodore 06 .Can someone please share a part description for the receiver that is responsible for detecting of the transponder chip. Not the alarm has the keyless entry in boot work fine. . I've also tried a second key and I still have the same starting issue which is intermittent sometimes you turn the key and there's nothing other times you turn the key and the starter runs but there's obviously no ignition as it just keeps turning over.. I have done a scan with the OBD unit says from memory paraphrase that there is a key error and that it's not registered.

Its actually not screws well mine wasn't. I didn't know how to get into it so I just replaced it with an aftermarket 175 fusable link. Any autoelec would have one as i got one through a local auto elec. Worked a treat. Hope that helps
