Is this the same guy that made the sweet injector end angle spreadsheet on the Holley forums?? What an amazing tool!!

"and it looks totally stupid" Yeah I started playing with the software a while ago and noticed I kept making it look like that... I am learning and can't wait to get a terminator x max!

Hey 👍 im using a new laptop & it won't go on-line. The old one still does . ( i can't do a data log because the old laptop battery is shot )

my profile pic is the motor in question. running a holley hi-ram with twin 700 cfm carb im looking to switch to efi to be able to switch fuels (race fuel to e85 ect) my compression is 12 to 1 but im running a 104 center line with a 108 lobe seperation solid roller cam. will a holley efi system be able to adj. properly with those cam specs.. any info would be appreciated thanks..

I could possibly send you a tune and have you look at it for me?

I have a question about the air temp table. I thought when you switched to VE that the IAT sensor was already used in the fuel calculations and that the air temp table is now mainly an additional correction that's applied to the fuel calculation along with the input from the IAT. Does Holley not do that when you switch to VE?
@MrAllan5oh5 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't. I asked Holley that question and the answer I got was they try to avoid doing anything "hidden" like that so it is still needed. 113-87 is a good starting point but is never perfect.

@@MrAllan5oh Thanks. I also did a little research and found out that it may actually be better that way. It seems like the original Megasquirt had issues using the ideal gas law only for air temp corrections and eventually switched to a tunable MAT table that handled all of the air temp corrections in later versions. Also, one more question. Does TPS only AE give better results vs a blend of TPS and MAP AE?
@MrAllan5oh5 жыл бұрын
@@nogood_ideas Yes it does. I havent found an application where MAP AE is useful.

How do u make a base map for a car that never ran on Holley before totally new setup

Once you understand how a VE table works you should be able to ballpark just about any engine with a little experience. It's also like life, best a little rich.

On turbo tune you were looking at at the end why is there a "pre peak" to the main peak area you were talking about?
@MrAllan5oh5 жыл бұрын
Can you be more specific? I dont want to watch the whole video again.
@MrAllan5oh5 жыл бұрын
The one after 19:00. That's simply the way that engine behaves. A lot of turbo engines seem to have two "mounds" like that. I've seen engines with 100% VE just off idle at atmosphere, not usually 2 valve engines though.
@ScrewYou20165 жыл бұрын
MrAllan5oh Yup that’s the one. My VE graph also has two mounds and I’ve always thought it was messed up but I guess not. Thanks!

@@ScrewYou2016 I gaurantee you sir it is not! Happy tuning.

Thank you for pronouncing it " turbine " not turbin 😅

That is not the right explanation for VE based Systems. Holley and 80% of all the EFi systems have a VE table UI (User Interface) but it is NOT working by Req_fuel.
@MrAllan5oh2 жыл бұрын
Req_fuel is a MegaSquirt variable that isn't needed. You input injector data, displacement, stoich (when you select fuel type), number of cylinders, and injectors per cylinder. So "req fuel" isn't needed. In fact putting all of those variables into a single value is a silly way to do it.
@wallycastro32 жыл бұрын
Req_fuel is not a Megasquirt variable. It is the output of the VE equation that takes into consideration the Manifold Absolut Pressure, Cylinder Pressure, Atmospheric Pressure (if you don’t have a barometer you’re not vE based), octanes of the fuel used, cylinder head efficiency, Lambda, air mass, air speed etc etc etc and the ECU process a huge equation that spits the amount of fuel needed at any giving time. If YOU have to set a Lambda target, its not VE, If you tweak a table using a guessometer….it is NOT VE based.
@MrAllan5oh2 жыл бұрын
@@wallycastro3 false. The variables themselves can be put in and Req_fuel is not needed. Req_fuel isn't needed if all the other variables are accounted for. That's exactly what happens with Holley.
