Agave harvesting kills more bees than honey. And it greatly contributes to deforestation. Either use maple or date syrup

imo honey is vegan from an ethical standpoint, the bees are free to leave whenever. and by your logic fruits pollinated by bees wouldn't be vegan either...

@Vegan Babie 1/3 of our food, yes even the farmed kind, relies on pollinators (especially bees) to grow. Every single fruit grows from a flower that had to be pollinated

@@compout2 It's not vegan. There are many reasons why it isn't ethical either. Also, just because you have to consume food that's pollinated by bees doesn't mean you have to go the extra mile and support bee keeping directly. Being vegan is always about doing as much as you can, not about being the perfect sustaining lifeform.

@@Leegheid As others said, that still doesn't make it vegan, as vegan just means never eating any product that comes from an animal. If you eat honey that comes from good beekeepers, or eggs that come from your own chickens, it's still not vegan :) That just means you're plantbased and cruelty free. Which is also fine!
