Jovana Djordjevic can you share some delicious vegan dishes and vegan restaurants in belgrade....
@jovanadjordjevic17094 жыл бұрын
Anikha Surendhran Mayka is my personal favorite vegan restaurant, but i usually go to regular restaurants and just ask for vegan options (pizza, pasta, risotto...) just ask to remove cheese or something that’s not vegan in that dish. If you are just walking around and you get hungry but not for a restaurant, then go to any bakery and ask for what’s POSNO (which are all vegan foods plus fish and honey, so just ask them what’s without those two). Pretty much in every ice cream place you can get a sorbet which is vegan. I personally suggest Gelateria Bubamara. I recommend trying baklava, or in the bakeries potato pie (pita sa krompirom) or mushroom pie (pita sa pechurkom). There is one great dessert bar that’s raw vegan, it’s called Ćao Šećeru. Hit me up at @jovanaaadjordjevic, for more info and help. The vegan acc that i linked 3 years ago i’m not using anymore. I’m here for any help 🥰🥰🥰

This is great! Do you have tips for eating vegan on long flights?? xx
@CheapLazyVegan7 жыл бұрын
I'm terrible with preparing for this haha first thing you probably wanna do is contact your airline a week or a few days before to request a vegan meal! and if that fails (some airlines don't provide it), then I usually pack a bunch of snacks like nuts, granola bars, maybe a couple pieces of fruit for the flight. and I like to eat a meal beforehand and potentially have a meal (that i usually buy at the airport before I get on the flight) ready for the plane. I am someone that constantly needs to be fed, so I try to be well prepared LOL.

and why would you think there aren't many vegans in eastern europe?
@strawberrymoon49097 жыл бұрын
TheZhukee it's a common misconception, I am Polish and for example in Warsaw you can find over 20 exclusivley vegan places.
@chriseatsplants22757 жыл бұрын
Poland is quite vegan friendly, not only big cites like Warsaw Poznan or Wroclaw but smaller have vegan restaurants as well :D
@sophiebaker7 жыл бұрын
I guess because meat plays a large part in the traditional cuisine of many eastern European countries.
@chriseatsplants22757 жыл бұрын
Meat plays a large part in traditional cuisine in whole Europe... World accualy. In Estern Europe accualy traditional cuisines was based on plant based food and dairy while comunism was running things and there was not enough money for meat for normal people...
@sophiebaker7 жыл бұрын
Perhaps a common misconception then ☺ I think of goulash, stroganoff, etc.
@iamalexandra.7 жыл бұрын
It's so much easier if you refer to yourself as a "végane", that way no one's going to mistake you for a vegetarian :)

Why were you surprised to find vegan options in Serbia? In Eastern Europe main religion is Greek Orthodox and for half a year they eat a diet very close to vegan (red meat, poultry, dairy and eggs are prohibited, but fish and honey allowed). So as a result many traditional dishes in those regions have developed to be naturally vegan so people can eat them during fasting. That especially applies to pastries and other deserts. I find much more naturally vegan dishes in Eastern Europe than I do in USA.
