I've been a meat eater all my life. The last 2 days I have been extremely conflicted with the moral and ethical implications that comes with it. I've been searching for a sound argument FOR the stance that eating meat/dairy products is ok but I am unable to find one as of yet. Anything I come up with I can rip apart myself. Been watching Joey's videos for 2 days straight. This leaves me with only two options... become vegan, or hold my hands up and openly declare i'm a fucking hypocrite. EDIT: I have received a hell of a lot of support, thank you for that. I think I might create some kind of social media account so I can video everything that i'm doing... i'm going to become vegan only and see if I can add a whole inch to my arms in a few months by eating vegan. Is there anybody here who is media savvy and can help me out setting it up?

There is only one argument 'for' eating meat/dairy which Vegans cannot argue against: "I just dont care" - a view I held for the first 34 years of my life before I realised the true implications (thank you Cowspiracy, What The Health, Earthlings) Your two options "Become Vegan" or "Accept im a hypocrtite" was the cross road I came to 2 years ago. I chose Vegan and honestly don't think I'll ever look back. I actually enjoy and appreciate food so much more.

Vegan For The Animals Ⓥ i know it’s wrong but I love the taste of meat and for body building. I don’t think about the process because I grew up with meat being presented differently. Food with meat just tastes too damn good compared to vegan food to even consider it. I’ll eventually cut down my meat intake but never quit as it’s a luxury item

Vegan food can be incredible, it's just that most people have never explored vegan food that much, and they don't realize that a lot of the food they already love is vegan. Cause regardless of the past new and more thorough research is showing plant based vegan diet to be the best for health all round. Morals completely aside, heart disease is the biggest killer and vegans have been shown who follow a whole food plant based diet to have almost zero % risk of heart disease as opposed to vegetarians and omnivores . I highly recommend researching the dangers of animal products on humans. Put simple there is nothing balanced about it. its simply hard to digest, cancer causing and determent to the planet itself due to its demand and tax on nature, thats morals fully aside, but imo the fact something has to die, be raped and exploited just to consume is a huge red flag. nothing natural about it.

If we didn’t breed the cows like that and take their calves away, they wouldn’t suffer that discomfort and pain. If dairy farmers really do care about their cattle and really are passionate about animal welfare like they claim to be, why do they do this? Saying that you really care about and love the animals and really care about their welfare and then AI’ing them and causing pain, taking their young away and causing them and their young great distress, cutting the tails and teeth of pigs, gassing and shredding up live male chicks and ultimately sending them all off to be electric-tonged, bolt-gunned, put through an electrified water bath, gassed and then slashed across the throat for hamburgers, bacon, chicken nuggets, KFC, steak and hoisin duck is hypocrisy. It can’t be excused. It is unnecessary.

Aidan Hancock So you use the logic that, because you can’t always do what’s right, you should never do what’s right? That’s like letting perfect be the enemy of good. That’s like saying “I can’t always avoid upsetting people, so I should go around always deliberately trying to upset people.” You can still go vegan with the exception of your medicine. If you are living in a regular, westernised society (or even an Asian society or some other societies), going vegan (albeit with the exception of your medicine), should be very doable. Even though you need your medicine, it is still better to avoid contributing unnecessarily to animal cruelty in the meat, fish, dairy and egg industries...

Milking cows doesn’t harm the cows, in fact it helps them. The calves are removed and raised really healthily. Better than a mother cow can. It’s good when cows are milked because it removes weight. There was a "competition " at the Ecka in Brisbane a few years back were farmers brought in their cows for viewing much like those dairy cows. They fed them up brushed them and whatever else they do to make them look there best , paraded them around judging who knows what saying how much they loved them and then the last stage of the comp they chopped them up to show the marbling of the meat. Taking a life for the sake of a photo on their living room wall and a ribbon around the neck. If that ain't weird nothing is.

I honestly don’t know how you do it, Joey, I think it’s so brave of you to go to these types of things and farms and see all the sadness and suffering of the animals. You do that for them, so you can film them and be their voice when they can’t speak. You’re one of the people who inspired me to try and be more active in my beliefs, I’ve been a vegetarian for almost eight years and a vegan for almost two, and I’ve never had the strength to be more active, but now I understand that I need to be strong for the animals suffering. Animal agriculture is responsible for up to 91% of the Amazon rainforest destruction. Animal agriculture causes ocean dead zones due to overfishing, pollution and climate change which is ruining marine ecosystems. Fishing has wiped out 90% of the world's large fish. Approx. 300,000 dolphins, whales, and porpoises are killed by fishing operations every year. Fishing kills up to 30,000 sharks every hour. Dumping the fishing gear (640,000 tonnes per year) is by far the deadliest form of marine plastic. Dwarfing the straws. $35 Billion in subsidies goes to the fishing industry worldwide - paying for bigger ships, more fuel, fishing licences, and the capture of even more marine life. Cows mourn for days and they can't forget for a longer time. You put their milk in coffee, because oat milk is too weird. Vegan alternatives are on the shelves, just one your decision saves cruelty. Cows produce methane (super potent greenhouse gas, 25 times stronger than CO2) from their four stomachs. There are one billion cows force-reproduced (raped by humans). Cows produce 1/3 of all farmed animals greenhouse gas emissions, animal farming makes 15% of all human caused emissions. Carnivore diet is not a personal preference. Miss Universe and Germany's Strongest Man are vegan. 1/3 of animals are herbivores including a horse, rhino, bison, gorilla and elephant. Love Animals? Let's be clear... 99% of animal abuse happens because ordinary people pay for it to happen. Humans are perfectly fine to be herbivores. With substitutes getting better each year it's easier to switch to a vegan lifestyle. It's 21st century, cruelty to people, animals and the planet can be greatly reduced.
