I'm gonna say, the buffet was amazing when my family and I went a few months ago. I still cannot get over the crepe I had! It was incredible, one of the best I ever had. Bananas Foster with caramel drizzled on it with fresh whipped cream. The crab legs were also amazing. Definitely ate over $150 worth of food! 😂

Many years ago, my wife and I did an uber-expensive Vegas buffet ($75 then) that had unlimited lobsters (whole ones) and champagne along with lots of other great things and a killer dessert room (yes, a whole room). It was amazing and worth it, but we ate so much that we couldn't move for an entire day after that, we were so stuffed. We just floated like buoys in the Mandalay Bay Beach wave pool for a long time watching pilots from Nellis AFB cavorting in the water like insane seals. Nice memory.

I have tried this buffet couple times before pandemic and I remember the price is around $60 per person in weekday. Good food with different varieties.

Cesar's buffet used to be 50.00 when I first ate there. Now it's 80.00. I go to the new Orleans buffet now 25.00 and it has what I like beef ribs, brisket, chicken and other items. This year 2022 the snow crab fishery is shut down because of low numbers. No more snow crab legs or Alaskan king crab legs.

Well Danny it's about time u splurged on an expensive buffet. Great eating of the crab legs and lobster claws. But u took to long getting to ur hot items, I could see on tv the stiffness of the hot items. I'm glad u did it but wished u tried more items. Good job overall.

The crunchy bread is called Crostini - Meaning "little toasts" in Italian, crostini are small, thin slices of toasted bread, which are usually brushed with olive oil.

I would feel that I got my moneys worth if there were dishes that required more skill to make over the wholesale Costco price. I used to go to a casino buffet that had a professional dessert chef and the desserts were top notch and more than I would ever make myself. But this buffet had plenty of higher end choices that make it worth while.

I've tried Bachanal Buffet before the pandemic and it is okay. Nothing extraordinary when it comes to taste, but the selection is huge. After the pandemic, we went there again and the experience is less to be desired. The foods are salty, and the supposed to be fresh seafoods are no way near fresh. The lobsters are bad and wouldn't want to eat it again. We are a group of 5 then, and all of us have the same experience. We will never go back to that buffet again... and by the way, we paid $83 for each person.

Enjoyed the video, Danny. I haven’t tried this buffet yet as I don’t think I could do justice to it. I would do just what you did, seafood first and special meats nuke, I think they have the dinosaur bones (big beef ribs) in the mix. I’m a big guy but I believe it’s a 90 minute limit and I’m a slow eater. Still it looks amazing. One correction I noticed and you’re not the only one. Those colorful sandwich cookies are called mak-ah-rahns. A macaroon is the coconut based cookie that is usually in a teardrop shape. Either way they are both delicious! Thanks for the video. Joe

it is a 90 minute *suggested* limit... Sure they make it seem like such the hard line rule, but I find that they dont hassle the people much about it. Yes, people correct me: MacaRONs.. lol... :)

Frozen crab legs are $32.99/lb at costco as of mid-Dec 2022, about $65 for a pack. Since the snow crabs aren't doing so well in the wild now, may be a last chance to eat $32.99/lb crab. I've never had crab that good

Frozen crab legs are expected to be super salty. Crab legs are already salty out of the water and then during processing they are cooked and then soaked in a strong brine before being frozen. Don't know why they use such a strong salt solution other than to make the crab absorb more water to gain weight and sell for a higher price. That being said, the Bacchanal has cut corners over the years. They used to offer King Crab along with Snow Crab. Their policy a few years ago was that the guest's plate of crab had to be no more than 50% King and the rest Queen (Snow). I actually had a run-in with the guy behind the counter one time. He filled my plate full of snow crab and when I complained, he told me that the plate was 50/50, and I told him to show me where the king crab legs were and to show me the shell spikes (of the King). His supervisor overheard the commotion and came over and fixed it on the spot.

I remember when I was I believe 9 or 10, my dad worked at Caesars palace. And one day his boss said that my whole family can either eat for free or eat for a very low price. I don't remember which one it was. But yeah, it was a fun experience and a delicious meal.

Been there not long ago. Can't wait to go back. You can skip the first 10 minutes of this guide. Start with crab legs and seafood station. Then head on to the meat station for prime ribs and other meat. Feeling full yet, then on to some desert and give a 15 minute rest before heading to ethnic dishes like Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and roast pig etc. When through, guarantee you'll the the stuffed roast pig. Of course, that's just my personal preference. I am a lifetime beef eater. Enjoy.

I would think an $80 buffet would have an A rating by the health department not a B- that's like 8 to 12 health department violations and I don't think I'm going to eat there

I dont bother with health department ratings.. I am one of those people who inspects the food before eating, as we all should anyway. PLUS health dept ratings are dated. they are just snapshots of the day the inspector went, so it does not in reality reflect how it is when YOU go.... which could be better or worse. So it is back to being responsible for your own safety and security and inspect your food every time you eat.

Hi Danny, I remember back in the pre Covid days, the most expensive buffet was Bally’s Sterling Buffet, $105 per person, only once per month. All you can eat lobster tails, steaks, prime rib etc..

Great advertiment for that joint, but OMG I want to go there but I have to spend a few hours there and enjoy, I normally have meats when I go to these places, no starch for me to fill me up. Just went there for Brunch at around 11am this past Saturday. It did not have as much food as they use to. Seafood section had more ice than food. Everything was sub par at best. Maybe this was an off day. Anyone else recent this place lately?

Thoughts on getting the most value for money at the buffet: I don't like getting lobster out of legs. Too messy for me. Lobster tails are good, if available. If they have crab cakes, eat them. Cooked shrimp or peeled cocktail shrimp would also be good choices. If they have prime rib and steaks eat those. Chicken Kiev or Cordan Bleu would be good choices, if available. I didn"t see any expensive sushi or seaweed salad. Don't fill up on inexpensive foods like rice, white potatoes, breads, rice crispes, etc. Do kids attend this buffet? If so, what do they pay? What cheeses do they have on the cheese board? Some cheeses are very expensive so they would be worth eating. The more exotic fresh fruit would be good to eat as well. Eat some of the more expensive vegetables as well. Such as red bell peppers, artichoke hearts, mushrooms of all kinds, cherry tomatoes, etc. Don't eat iceberg lettuce. A few leaves of baby spinach or romaine lettuce would be OK. None of the desserts shown appealed to me. Where were all the chocolate cakes with ganache, etc. How about petit fores? And true fruitcake and cheesecake? And there were no exotic pizzas. Or thin crust ones. Too many plebian dishes for such an expensive buffet!

Actually the most expensive buffet in Vegas is the Sterling buffet at Ballys but I hear it’s on hiatus. Also if you’re diamond or seven star you can walk right past the peasants to the front of the line😂😂😂. Bacchanal is crazy for Xmas, they do tomahawk ribeye and lobster

Those seafood 🦞 you eat at any buffet, they are all frozen, then tossed in water to be defrosted. So, water 💦 wash flavor away. They do look like seafood, but it doesn't taste like seafood. Best way to enjoy seafood is to go near coastline State. Nevada is not even near the ocean. I miss my home, Chiba ken, Japan 🗾

That's my exact way of attacking this buffet. Start with a mountain of crab legs. One thing to mention is it's best to not to be at the tail end of the buffet. We went before they closed and they did not have coffee made for me to have with my desserts. Usually no big deal, but for a buffet at this price, I expect the last customer to be treated as good as the first customer.
