Were there some students that decided not to participate and if yes...why?

That was really well done. For such a large class, it was well organized. It was the perfect time of day to have it, outdoors with a gentle breeze. Everyone was able to see everyone up on the big screen get their diploma and hear everything so clearly. We also have this beautiful, professionally produced video as a keepsake. From the procession onto the field through their teachers to the fireworks at the end, it was a better event than most universities give their parents and students. Thank you Venice High for a memorable evening and an education that will benefit my child for the rest of her life.

Only the teachers got to see the students graduate. The parents were restrained by Venice police…robbed of seeing my child graduate. This place sucks.

@laurenurban3942 what happened????

Only the teachers are allowed to sit on the field and watch the students graduate. Parents are treated as spectators and have to fight for a tiny spot in order to watch their kid graduate. The parents are kept so far away you can’t see anything. It was like being at a rap concert…except a rap concert is more organized…and have less drunk people. It was the worst experience of my life. And nobody told me to arrive 3 hours early to get a seat in the bleachers where you still cant see or get a decent photo of your kid. It sucked….they have the Venice police to keep the parents from seeing their kid graduate. It was a crap show….not a graduation.

@@laurenurban3942 I'm so sorry that happened to you. That sounds like an absolute mess. I wasn't able to go I just got through surgery, so I watched the live stream for my cousins graduation. I'm so sorry you didn't get to see better for photos.

Consider yourself lucky that you didn’t go. It was awful. The Venice police were there to prevent parents from seeing their kids graduate. Parents were treated like absolute trash at this graduation.

That was an awful graduation ceremony. What a horror show for parents who wanted to see their child graduate. Parents were relegated to the sidelines like cattle and given the worst seat in the place. The Venice Police had a better view of my child walking up to receive his diploma. That school should be ashamed of themselves treating parents like that. People with no handicapped parking tags in handicapped spots. If you had a physical handicap....this school or the police could care less about you seeing your kid graduate. That was pure horror just to see my kid for 30 seconds. I am definitely moving from this place.

bro u need to just show up earlier thats entirely on u weirdo

@@cosmicsins6226 I showed up at 7:30. Thats a half hour early and beforehand nobody told my son that there was no seating for parents and that the graduation was just a free for all for whoever was drunk and wanted to come and crash the place. It was not a graduation ceremony....it was a hood rally. We also were not told that each student could bring 75 relatives. It was like a rap concert....without the rap, but even rap concerts are better organized and have much fewer drunk people walking around. It was like walking into a horror movie.

@@bigmafia5867 Pipe down?....I can see what your education level is. My only child graduates and all I could see was the back of someone's head. I won't mention the handicap parking spots that had cars parked in them with no handicap permits on them...meanwhile, the parents are herded in like cattle to the sidelines so the teachers can steal our only moment to see them walk on the stage. this ceremony made absolutely no sense at all. It was a horror show and a bad memory to have for your only child's graduation. I think the Venice police did the most work they have done all year....bully parents and ruin their moment. I have never been to a more screwed up event in my entire life. What a crap show. I am so looking forward to moving to a normal state when my son goes to college. I'm not attending any more Florida graduation ceremonies. Only up North does a school have a shred of respect for parents. Down here...parents are treated like livestock to be herded like cattle. We have no right in the state of Florida to see our child graduate...only the teachers do. This is a very nasty place with some very nasty people.
