I refuse to say it was Venom in Spiderman 3. Yes, it was Eddie Brock, but they never once said the name Venom in that movie. I was very disappointed in that movie. Sony got the actual physical character better as Venom. But I disliked both those movies tremendously. I also agree Sony's Venom should not resemble Spiderman at all. I don't even believe he should be called Venom. Venom was born from hatred of Peter Parker after Peter rejected the symbiote. He basically took the name Venom as a response as to being like poison to Peter Parker. It's kind of of these aliens have names. But also weird that a "baby" symbiote named himself Carnage. Instead of becoming Carnage as the symbiote bonds with a notorious serial killer, Cletus Cassidy .

I really didn't like the venom films. I don't think it's a fit for venom. Venom is a dark character so if it's not rated R with blood and gore then it just takes away from who venom truly is.
