I like to think that when Venom Snake says "that's right, don't blame yourself. Blame me" hes not referring to himself (Venom), but actually Big Boss. It's like Venom has a bit of distaste/ maybe even hatred towards Big Boss for tricking and making him into having to live his life. It's fucking poetic and I fucking love it.

It's weird that despite Solid and Liquid being rivals, they both fight against Big Boss, even if for different reasons. If I think of it, maybe Liquid was jealous of Solid, because it was Solid to "kill" Big Boss and not himself, so he wanted to end Solid to prove that he was better than Big Boss.
