Thanks for sharing, Chris. That's some pretty scenery around Smithers. Good on you for tackling that technical trail. This episode really made me homesick for B.C. I don't miss the rains on the coast during winter though. BTW, I really enjoyed you showing us your layout "downstairs." Awesome video as usual. Funny how a bad day can turn into an awesome day. 20 years on a fridge is pretty good but I also understand you don't want to buy a new one. If I were to make one suggestion it would be treking poles...or pole. walking alone in the back country I have found it nice to be able to keep balance and such. You already are carrying a lot with camera gear so they might be too much of a hassle for you. Keep it up and see you next week!

Wow, I have watched a lot of Jeep upgrade videos lately and you are the first to mention that the factory inverter will shut off before draining the battery. Actually maybe I knew that but do you know if it shuts off just based on time like the interior lights seem to do or based on battery level?

I still can’t believe you don’t have a gas can. I just have a factory JKUR Hard Rock Edition and a winch but the first accessory I installed myself was the Smittybilt tire carrier with the Rotopax accessory. I have TWO 3 gallon cans and have even run out of gas on the freeway. I discovered if you are not on level ground you may have to add more than a gallon of gas to get the Jeep to start again. Your videos are well composed, focused, edited, and exposed except when you are shooting inside the Jeep and have to overexpose the outside. I may do some wheelin vids myself someday soon since I plan on building some inventions for my Jeep that I might market later. Actually thinking of making a much cheaper rtt Hard shell made of used parts from other previous functions that can be accessed from inside the Jeep, so lookout Ursa. Saw a video on the even more expensive French, bolt-on, extended version, Ursa-like top and wondered what you would think of it. As for the exposure issue, I suppose the solutions could include using an LED light inside and/or put neutral density film outside on your background windows, or both. Maybe you could make a neutral density “throw” that you could quickly attach outside with magnets. Maybe it doesn’t bother you but I think it’s a weak link in your and another otherwise extremely well produced and shot KZbin wheeling channel. Hey, have you tried using a bounce to light yourself more in the Jeep? Nobody seems to use them for that but they seem ideal being so lightweight and collapsible. Just a thought.

Coming from a family of electricians I can’t bring myself to spend a fortune on a genesis type system like you have without investigating cheaper/better alternatives and being a filmmaker I can’t bring myself to buy some of these ultra expensive LED lights. I own some real expensive LEDs for filming but don’t expect to pay a CRI or filmmaker premium for SUV spot lights. These manufacturers see us jeep owners coming. I prefer warmer light anyway. I have an LED light bar I never installed yet but since they all are only for off road use anyway I am tempted to take along one or two LED streetlight heads I bought that have a high CRI index rating and although older, dimmer model are each 37,000 lumens. Can just put them out when off-road so don’t have to clean smashed bugs off after onroading. Put in rear when backing up. Put in front when going forward. May be a bit heavier and not have the throw some of these have but for less than $300 each they’ll do and they’ll make great end tables. Being portable I could blind a bear with them or a neighbor with a noisy generator.
