NO AND THE PROSECUTION SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR NOT GOING AFTER THE COGNIZANT DAUGHTER WHO CLEARLY, CLEEEEEEARLY SAW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND TURNED HER BACK TO GO LIVE HER COGNIZANT LIFE WHILE HER FAMILY DIED. Mother passed, both siblings locked up= demise of an entire family. SHE COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS.

Nursing homes charge around $8000 a month & give little care . Yes . many people die in nursing homes and in the two cases my family relatives they all lost a lot of weight because the staff did not make sure they ate . One of my relatives had dementia, and he was not all there. my cousin's husband had a stroke and got worse at the nursing home he had to go to the hospital for dehydration because the nursing home staff were not helping eat & drink . then died after being there for two months. I won't let my loved ones end up in a nursing home.Sad.

THIS DOESN’T SEEM RIGHT! It seems that the father neglected his wife, and when he died the two siblings continued to neglect their mother. My degrees are in psychology, and from the way that the two siblings appear they appear to be undeveloped, and they might have mental disorders. Karen Murray doesn’t appear 49, and Michael Murray doesn’t appear 43. They should have had psychological evaluations and IQ tests, before being charged with first degree murder, because they do not appear cognitively able to take care of themselves. Hopefully, their lawyers will appeal the verdict, and get them evaluated.

@@beverlygriffin3757 these people didn't have the means to hire someone to take care of their mother. You don't know how it is to be poor. These two never should've been taken care of her, but when you don't have money you don't have a choice. When you dad say no then that means "NO"!! The correct thing to do was to still call someone no matter what the dad said. The home health aides and other people knew that the home smelled like piss but they didn't report it. How many people have went over someone's grandmother's house and it smelled bad. Most just turn a blind eye to it and carry on with their lives. Why didn't the other sister know what was going on. When you mom smell like piss why not pull the covers back and wash her up and change her, but even she didn't care to look. She went down with her kids and went site seeing.

I do think the father was the ring leader and they went along with him. Many people would rather overlook the issues caused by family then call authorities on them. I believe this to be the case. This is outrageous.. you cannot impose reasonable expectations upon mentally incompetent people , You can however and should hold the medical and health staff that was in contact with this family, responsible for not intervening and doing anything to assist this woman, when there was a chance to,. These kids didn’t just come out of nowhere. They are a product of what they themselves have been subjected to all their lives. The Sister should have stood up for her brother and sister as well. I don’t see how she can sleep at night to fight for them and tell the Jury how much they loved their Mother, but they never been in a position to help their Mother in her serious condition. If they had to sell their house for mom's nursing home the others would have nowhere to live. Sad situation.

@@pamlove421Medicaid. They would've let the father keep the house until his death (or until they could get him into Medicaid in a nursing care facility before then), but it would've left the grown kids homeless. Medicare is the (usually) senior health insurance that's usually free for Part A hospital stuff, free Part B for regular doctor stuff for low income people, and there are additional parts that can be paid for. Medicaid is for disability and severe health issues of all ages, as well as for low income people for regular care, and for long-term-care for people who can't afford to pay for their own or who don't have long-term-care insurance. But, they recoup whatever money they can by taking the home (and funds, etc.) after both spouses die, so it can't be left to the adult kids, unless the house is under a life estate deed for at least 5 years before the Medicaid starts. That's what what the father was trying to do, keep the house for his kids. It seems Medicare should've covered more than what they were getting, as far as home care. I didn't even think Medicaid took care if my grandma well, at all. When I was on it a short time, about 20 years ago, other one crummy doctor, it seemed okay for me. If they'd put her on hospice, they would've most likely taken away food, water (other than swabbing the mouth), any oxygen under the nose if she'd had that, any regular prescriptions, antibiotics, and even WOUND CARE, and just kept her knocked out on morphine and Ativan, until she died. 😢 I don't think her family intended harm, just ended up not being up to the task. I hate the system. They were starving my dad in the hospital and he kept asking for food. They wouldn't give him ANY for days!

So why when she visited didn’t she at least do what she could during that visit?? Instead she just said she only saw her head and neck!! A daughter that cared would have wanted to make her mother comfortable and willingly check and assist and WANT to at least clean, strip wash/bathe and change mum, and check that she was clean and comfortable at the very least, and she didn’t! From what’s been described, the smell alone would have made me check the others were even doing basic care, and that she was in clean bedding and clean clothes on my visits! There’s a tonne of things she could have done even from afar, like buy and send pads and mattress protectors either that could be washed and changed regularly, or disposable ones that could be replaced, new nighties and creams/lotions talc, even facecloths…so many things she could have done to assist! This mother was left to decay in her own bed!! And not one of them gave a stuff! Did you even watch all of the trial? In the statements these two made to the police, they told them that didn't have time to care for their mother. They had their own lives to live. The mother's ankle was broken so bad and left uncared for so long that the exposed bone DIED! There was dried feces with mold around the injury. She had been laying in the bed for so long that her back molded to the form of the bed. She had on a dirty diaper so long that the poop had mold on it. EMS saw the mother with dried vomit on her face and shirt. Did you hear the testimony of the ER physician? They had to literally clean the mother up BEFORE they could even assess the real reason for her coming to the ER that day! So please tell me what trial did you watch to form THIS verdict of NOT GUILTY for them? Yes, there is visible mental issues with the siblings, but they also knew what they were doing. God rest the soul of their mother. May she now have peace with Our Father in Heaven.

@yolandacottrell5517 .. That Court trial was to put the blame on those disabled children who should have NOT been in charge of their Mom's care! The medical system, doctors, homecare, and the oldest Sister failed this family! No one gave a dam about this Family! And our Judical system is the worst ever.... I could go on and on about this case, but it's too heartbreaking.. Praying that those two mental disabled children get help they need in prison where they should not be! God will take care them.. I'm sorry that their Mom suffered..🙏🏿🙏🏿

Why was there no psychological assessment done for these defendants? How is this allowed? They very clearly do not appear to be all there.
@Faretheewell608
@Faretheewell608 3 ай бұрын
If psych evaluations had been done, and found the siblings not competent, there would be no trial. If the siblings were found to be competent to stand trial, evidence of competency would not be part of the State's nor the Defendant's cases. The fact that there was an objection when defense counsel tried to introduce evidence of some concern about Michael, demonstrates mental issues were put forward, argued, and ruled upon either before or at the beginning of trial. Perhaps he had some issue at some time, but it did not affect his ability to understand right and wrong at the time of the abuse or neglect.
